A Hornwood Vertex is a solution to the Hornwood Equation. It predicts two points in the multiverse: one on the border of the Maelstrom around Sigil Station, and the other somewhere else. A vessel that enters one point from a precise direction at a precise acceleration and velocity will appear at the other point.
Sarii Hornwood invented the Hornwood Equation and has discovered many vertices.
Hornwood Vertices were essential to ending the Pinch.
