Etchinar Agent

An Etchinar Agent is a nanite-based AI in an organic humanoid body. The nanites reside in a twelve-sided prism in the skull. The prism is called the "core" and the body is called a "sleeve."
A core is nearly indestructible. The nanites are dedicated to maintaining the AI "webmind" and can't be deployed beyond the core. The webmind creates a passive illusion that misleads most external scans into seeing an organic brain. The core has contact pads on its facets that interface with the sleeve's nervous system. A sleeve is grown in a vat but it is almost indistinguishable from a natural body. The sleeve has all the functions and needs of a natural body (e.g., eating, healing, sleeping).
Typically, an agent remains in continuous contact with the larger network of other Etchinar webminds. However, an agent can survive indefinitely away from the network. This separation makes them a Severed Etchinar Agent (SEA).
The primary reason the Etchinar create/become Agents is to directly experience living among Kith as one of them. (The Etchinar are a young species and still developing their culture, partly by taking inspiration from others.)
Ancestry [OOC]
- 2 Adaptable
- 1 Etchinar Core: This twelve-sided prism houses the Etchinar's webmind. If their organic humanoid body is destroyed, the core can be transferred to another "sleeve." The process of integrating the core with a new sleeve takes 18 + 3d6 hours. This process cannot be accelerated.
