Operatives: Mellowyn, DK, Stream, Alara

• Mellowyn introduced Alara to the team
• The team prepped to force-recon the Black Channel in the Freddy D
• Some discussion of working with Kassik Orridar (Aven, he/him, sorcerer-architect) to build an arch in the Feywild to get Thornstride back to his husband
• Smooth trip along the shore to the channel
• The Black Channel has the Shadow Curse almost to the surface, creating a dead zone in and above the water, with perpetual gloom
• The team detected a memory bead on the south clifftop
• The team detected three megafauna: near the surface, below the surface, and in the depths
• The three megafauna are a triple node of the Shadow Curse
• The first megafauna was Mawzek, a huge shark
• Mawzek charged the Freddy D
• Tentacles rose from the water, grappling the Freddy D
• Mellowyn used Visceral to spot the second megafauna: Clamorgasp, a huge undead octopus
• The third megafauna was Orandeek, a huge marauder lobster-like monster
• Orandeek repeatedly tried to puppet the operatives but failed
• Promise and Desire rent the tentacles, freeing the Freddy D
• Stream got the killing blow on Mawzek (with an upcast Bolt)
• Alara detected that Clamorgasp has a trapped spirit within
• The Shadow Curse started raising Mawzek
