Mission Report

Team: Delly (Cael), Fonn (Dragon), Ikhilzis (Schizo), Lae'eni (Aslene), Lottie (Basil), Smokes (Aunne), Ulthane (Blank), Zenovi (Dae)

You cleaned up the aftermath of the battle against Avinos. Aedin explained that you should recommend which Amonkhet god should be released from Adinzar. Lottie and Zenovi treated the team and the cultists. Ikhilzis and Fonn constructed makeshift rafts to float the unconscious civilians out of the sewer. Lae'eni found the artifact of Zuggtmoy in the fungal infestation in the Swift: a Tome of Fungal Promises that can allegedly tell the reader all the secrets to their happiness. She almost succumbed to its temptations, but Zenovi helped her. Zenovi, Fonn, and Lae'eni secured the Tome in a positive fungal basket. The team unlocked more memory beads, which clarified the backstory. You discussed how best to treat the cultists, and then move out.

Estelle Pelham leads Primex in the DMV. Danika Thatcher is one of her star employees. Danika's daughter, Celia Thatcher, got conned by Gil Hadrick. Gil was a member of Avinos' cult. Celia confronted Gil and assaulted him. Celia was arrested. Estelle ordered Mordicai to get Celia released and the charges dropped, to avoid any distractions for Danika. Somehow this lead to Mordicai becoming a member of Avinos' cult.

Wheels

  • Lae'eni and Delly are practicing together, and Delly accidentally breaks Lae'eni's nose
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood is very amused by this situation.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw stares at all this. Sips her tea. ".... nope."
  • Fonn Razorenth: "How do you fix a dragonborn nose? ...snout?"
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "...Carefully?"

  • Lottie: "I have died three times now and there is no one other than Delly I'd rather die with and for"
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "Oh and I died with Arkitalos. Not going to talk about that."

  • Fonn needs to choose a fragment of an Eternal to keep as a boon, from the Covenant of Chain Breakers.

  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): When Delly kicked down the trash monstrosity and leveled her sword at it's throat, Snow hopped out of her arms and bared his tiny fangs inches from the vulnerable area, wizard and familiar both in sync together: bloodied, battered, fiercely triumphant.
  • Aedin explains that the Relentless Understanding has agreed to release one of the Amonkhet gods. The Warden will make the decision. She welcomes your counsel, since you took the risk to make this possible. There's not a rush.
  • Fonn Razorenth: wonders at the fragment. "I don't believe I've ever held something so full of life."
  • Lottie: Lottie wraps a shock blanket around the lady who fell to the ground in front of her and starts basic medical care
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: Proud, somewhere: "Yeah, yeah - Aiden? At /least/ let's start a cult to scrub the walls once every frew years or so?"
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Snow leans up to lick Zenovi ibn gratitude.
  • Zenovi of the Ágrioxýlo Tribe: "Zenovi scratches behind Snow's ears.
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly kisses his head, softly, and puts him around her shoulders protectively.
  • Fonn Razorenth: Once there's no immediate action to take, Fonn will take out a bag from her pack and start picking piecies of trash off herself into it. She'll hand it over to Lisette or trade it later -- trash touched by a godling has to be worth loose lips somewhere -- but for now she just wants it /off./
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly cooperates placidly with healing attempts after Snow is healed.
  • Arkitalos consumes Frayed Leaper spirit.
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood 's swift form opens a second pair of eyes, and that whole strange psionic combination of a snake and octopus swallows the Leaper Spirit whole.
  • Lottie: The robot body you've seen as Lottie shimmers, a glass shell around a young looking woman in a long, old looking yellow gingham dress, a gun hilt sticking out the side. A knife is stabbed in the center of the glass, through the girls chest, holding her aloft in the clear structure around her. She pushes her body against the glass, moving it forward as it, and her, enter the swift.
  • Lae'eni: Fonn is building a raft with Khilz, then working with Zenovi to put the bodies onto the rafts. Lottie is trying to help with the traumatized survivor. Ulthane blank is watching for trouble. Delly is healing quietly. Lae'eni is going to approach the amphibian. Smokes is...?
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: ... with Lottie handling the trauma, Smokes will step back from her worrying and move back to the real. She'll remind the group "Do not forget we were told that this godling had some sort of artifact of Zuggtomy. We'll need to find that. carefully. With tongs." And then? She'll move to collect a sample of oil and investigate memory beads.
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): DElly sets about fixing herself upunder the watchful eye of Zenovi. She's apparently quite used to personal first aid; Snow assists, now that he is better. His fierce fighting spirit seems undiminished.
  • Fonn Razorenth: At some point while picking trash off herself, Fonn finds a band-aid that still has the paper on the sticky part. She offers it to Delly with a neutral experession. "Would this help?"

  • Zenovi of the Ágrioxýlo Tribe: "Please do not give anyone trash bandaids."
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood shudders a bit from the idea of a bandaid from Avinos' "body".
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "I wonder if Avenos was corrupted by the artifact he stole for power, or was always a fungal godling?"
  • Zenovi of the Ágrioxýlo Tribe: "You know what they say, one man's god of trash is another man's god of treasure."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw snickers.
  • Fonn Razorenth: Fonn will try to high-five Ikhilzis
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood stares at the hand for a moment, then offers his hand almost begrudgingly.
  • Fonn Razorenth: Overall, it is an awkward high five, especially with soaked gloves/hands. However, it is a high five nontheless
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "Oh! A tar toad! In terms of dangers, besides the oil of course, it can produce small sparks to ignite objects in conjunction with the oil, and little squeaks when threatened, though those barely pose a threat to humanoids. They are a thaumafauna, and breed naturally but can also be created where polluted areas intersect warped areas of the Weave meet natural toad or frog populations. In the "wild" they derive sustenance from pollution itself, especially oils, and insects or other small creatures with high oil contents."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw literally picks up the three beads - they orbit her claws in a flickering constellation.

  • Lottie: "Do you think your lady would be able to purify that?"
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "Possibly? But if Lae'eni wants Zenovi to handle it, that's fine too."
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood tests the ropes and the mattresses, and nods in satisfaction to Fonn. Should be good.
  • Lottie: "If demons come out of it you should come to me, aswell as Zenovi"

    • Mordicai Gates is talking with a tall, fit Latinx corrections officer (she/her) in a worn army jacket. They're in the parking lot of the DC Central Detention Facility, early in the morning.
    • Mordicai: Look, I know that you were on shift when she was brought in. I just need to retrieve her missing personal effects. Especially the book. It's not in the arrest record but I know she had it.
    • Woman: Listen, Mordi. My crew plays nice with all the factions, including Big Mack's House. You know we don't want trouble.
    • Mordicai: Then you should have no trouble turning over the missing personal effects for Celia Thatcher.
    • Woman: OK, but you owe me. We count on you and yours to keep attention away from us. We're just trying to make a living here.
    • Mordicai: You've scanned this scene wrong. We look the other way most of the time. But what this girl was carrying, you don't want to sell. You don't even want to touch it.
    • Woman: What the fuck, Mordi? You make it sound radioactive. Do I need to get tested or something?
    • Mordicai: As long as you didn't read it or, y'know, pray to it, you'll be fine. Let's just say that when wannabe gods give out talismans, they cut corners on the safety measures. And don't call him Big Mack. He hates that.
  • Fonn Razorenth: Fonn looks a lot less sure after the disclaimers.
  • Lottie: "I have divine smite. I don't know if that'll help"
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw sighs. And pulls out and honest to goodness curling ram's horn from SOMEWHERE under her cloak . Giving Ihkilsis a long suffering look she blows it. HArd. No sound comes out. Then. She quietly puts it back.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "EWW. Brain slithering."
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood twitches a little at that thought.

    • Mordicai Gates is talking with Gil Hadrick. They're walking in a sewer tunnel. Gil is carrying a propane lantern. Mordicai has fungus growing on his face.
    • Gil: So you told your boss the book was destroyed?
    • Mordicai (flat tone): Yes, sir. Ms. Pelham believes that the danger is passed.
    • Gil: Tell me about the protocol. Since they know she touched the Edge, they'll scan her?
    • Mordicai: Yes, sir. But she won't show up as infected, and the compulsion is undetectable.
    • Gil: The compulsion to seek out the package.
    • Mordicai: Yes, sir. She will seek it, she will find it, she will join our glorious song. (growing excitement) Together, we will close the deal. We will expand into new markets! We will dominate the competition! We will kick ass and close the deal and get our sugar! ... Shall I go now and place the package?
    • Gil: No, Mordicai. Our master has other plans for you.

  • Estelle Pelham is a strong, older businesswoman (she/her). She has short, platinum-blonde hair and light makeup. She wears an expensive but understated business suit: jacket, blouse, and slacks. Her silver and diamond jewelry is similarly understated. Estelle's one flex is is bespoke kitten heels in swan-white leather with silver chasing. She carries herself with solid authority and conviction.
  • Memory Bead
    • Estelle Pelham is talking with Mordicai Gates. They're in a large executive office.
    • Mordicai: Even the police report acknowledges that the girl, Celia, she was just trying unmask this fraud, this Gil Hadrick. She realized it was pyramid scheme, or some kind of cult. I mean, she sold her car for cash. Then Hadrick, at the bar, he provokeed her. Witnesses say he was, uh, vulgar in his language. That's why she assaulted him. It was a clean arrest, and Hadrick never put anything in writing about their deal. If we get involved, if I get involved, we might make this worse. Right now, she's just a rich kid who got suckered by a con man. I'm pretty sure no journalist has the scent, but if I start using our influence...
    • Estelle: That assessment is unacceptable, Mr. Gates. Ms. Thatcher's work is too important for her to be... impeded... by any distractions.
    • Mordicai: Ma'am, I'm not disagreeing. But there's no Edge here. There are no signs that the daughter was coerced or enspelled. She doesn't have a record. If she pleads out, she's probably just get community service hours.
    • Estelle: I said too important, Mr. Gates. Regardless of circumstance. This needs to be fixed, urgently.
    • Mordicai: I... Yes, ma'am. Primex takes care of its own.
    • Estelle: Damn straight. Primex takes care of its own.

  • Lisette: Lae'eni is correct that because R3M is part of the Rational Ascendancy, we are bound to return the Primex personnel to Primex.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "This kind of Trauma is *exactly* what Talarin does. That's our hospital of choice - the cleanup crew is contracted to Talarin."
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "Talarin to civilians, Primex to Primex's facilities"
  • Lisette: The plan: Cheyanne, Thiago, and Gil to R3M custody; while RR takes Mordicai and Celia to Primex
  • R3M contracts private transport the neutral civilians to R3M HQ DC, so that Talarin remains unaware until RR is ready to disclose
  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood reminds REM that Gil is Hostile, and should be careful
