RMS 1-2: Rescuing the Barclays and Meeting Myndri

Mission Report


Thursday, March 11, 2027 ((2023-06-1))
Team: Denatos (cardboard), Dex (Dan), Haze (Jodi), RON (Jeff), SilentStorm (Basil)

We continued clearing the trap weeds out of the walker. Haze persuaded most of the weeds that food could be found elsewhere. We laid a trail of flares to guide them out. But a trap weed alpha was not persuaded. SilentStorm lured it to below the hatch and then killed it. We found the Barclay family huddled in the last pod. Eldon had been seriously injured shortly before the trap weed bloom arrived and the walker's operating system crashed. Denatos treated Eldon while RON and Dex got the walker systems up. Then we rode the walker back to Whispered Truths.

Back on Whispered Truths, we were visited by Kurk Mudthorn and Princess Myndri of Kambra. We exchanged some information and gifts. Myndri gave us a prophecy but denied our request to return to Kambra Town. We continued onward towards Icewind Plateau. We detected a faint signal from another walker. When we moved nearer, it went cold and silent. Moments later, we detected an automated distress signal in the other direction. We decided that Jade would ride the Earthsea walker to the distress signal while we investigated the faint signal.

The humanoids wear layers of Earth-tec winter clothing, including parkas, gloves, and boots. Each carries a sidearm, and one carries a rifle. They seem comfortable with each other, like colleagues who have worked together for a long time, or perhaps more.
