Mission Report

Sunday, March 14, 2027 ((2023-03-10))
Team: Balto (Cael), Breaker (Wynnri), Doc (Absent), Key (Dragon), Pebble (Basil (2nd half)), Ragdoll (Keneux), Skadi (Absent), Wraith (Absent)

The remaining TICs rushed our position. We fought them in the reactor core while trying to minimize damage to the loft crystals. Togo went down but Ragdoll revived him. Breaker got the final blow on the strongest TIC: a knight. Meanwhile, Nikaros was copying files from the server to a portable hard drive. Skadi and Wraith secretly copied the same files and decrypted them. The files describe a new kind of Reaver called the Lurk, created through a combination of the Wall and Reaver-tec. We silently tried to find cause to arrest Jules. He interrupted with news of an R-tec infestation near Caer-Dineval. He loaned his shuttle so that we could rapidly intervene. Skadi and Doc remained on Cloud Lab 3 to treat Grizzly.

Details

  • It's Friday, March 12, 2027, 11:21 am.
  • It's been 35 days since the Wall went up (2/7/2027).
  • Wraith is backing up Breaker so that the Dvar can focus
  • Skadi and Doc back to Grid, holding position in Ops to support the team and monitor Jules and Nikaros
  • Loft crystals are air + water = storms, = antigrav
  • Key: Dire wolf Key is one of her most natural forms. The silver fur and draconic snout are vicious and sharper than a normal wolf's and her large magic blue claws are hidden by big furry paws. Her druidic bronze jewelry remains wrapped around her front paws. The familiar coating of snow generated by her shapeshifting blends into her fur mistily. She's big, really big. Enough to fit a Bugbear on her back.
  • Skadi notes which files Nikaros is copying. The first copy of a copy she grabs is encrypted.
  • Main reactor is a magitec crystal construct
  • Balto: Balto makes the same horrible, choking noise that Togo does, the two in Sync, and her hands grip her spear in rage, teeth bared in a snarl.
  • Jules: “Such a beautiful beast, laid low. Such a shame.”
  • Balto: Togo's eyes flicker, and then blink. He gets up slowly, wiht a rippling terrible snarl of pure animal ferocity.
  • Balto: The Chain is.... humming. There's an undertone like fierce cold wind, or maybe the faint song of an Ahklut pack hunting in the deep, dark, freezing night.
  • Ragdoll got Unbound card
    • Ragdoll perceives the main reactor as a magitec construct using infernal secrets, likely from Mephistopheles, Lord of Cania
  • Files from Primex
    • Our sources at the Council of Gevoka reported a merciless disposition among some practitioners that may have tainted the ultimate working. In the context of the Council's discourse, it's pertinent to acknowledge that certain council members advocated for a decidedly drastic resolution. Although the Song of Separation was ultimately conceived as benign, the prevailing animosity within some practitioners could have inadvertently tainted its essence, embedding a malevolent undercurrent unbeknownst to its originators.
    • From the perspective of the magitec paradigm, the corruption of the Song of Separation might materialize as malign entities. Early indicators suggest that these entities exhibit increased activity under conditions of low light. This nocturnal propensity suggests that the malevolent entitites are photo-reactive. They may even draw strength from darkness itself, thus manifesting their harmful effects more profoundly during nighttime hours.
    • Upon examination, the corruption of the Song of Separation, as it materializes on Sihblos, appears to synergize with extant Reaver presences, catalyzing the emergence of novel, exceptionally aggressive predatory entities. This interaction suggests a complex bio-magical convergence, facilitating the evolution of these entities into forms of heightened viciousness. Preliminary reports from civilian population centers converge on a slang term for these entities: the Lurk.
  • Balto: Longooth is an apt name for her spear- she /tears/ into the enemy with the same kind of animal viciousnes Togo has. That song in the chain is thrumming, the undertone like a heartbeat; there is blood on the wind and weakened prey and pack to defend.
  • Balto: Balto goes to Togo, kneeling in front of him. He presses his face to hers, forehead to forehead, and makes a musical sort of rumbling noise. She exhales, slow and ragged, for just a moment. "...Don't go where I can't follow, brother mine," she whispers. "I owe yer mom and pop that much. And Papa Ahklut says pack sticks t'gether. We'll practice. We're stronger together, after all."

  • The rest of the team takes the shuttle
