RMJ 2-13: Negotiating with Jules and Retaking the Server Core

Team: Balto (Cael), Breaker (Wynnri), Doc (Absent), Key (Absent), Pebble (Basil), Ragdoll (Keneux), Skadi (Aslene), Wraith (Absent)

We continued to sweep Cloud Lab 3. We negotiated with Jules Theophilus Prescott. He claims that he now owns the lab because Primex is in breach of contract. Breaker and Nikaros Brineheart used hacking in ops to help the server core resist full Reaver infestation. On the Grid and in the Swift, we fought Reaver TICs. We cleared out the data hold and the server core rebooted. We can see that more TICs remain on the Grid. Pebble found bodies in the morgue and she is ritually casting gentle repose.

Details

• Balto: Balto comes over to Breaker with what looks like a broken toaster oven, now repaired. "Did I do this right? It didn't blow up or nothin'."
• Skadi: Skadi is sitting on top of a desk in the corner of the engineering lab going through schematics of different Walkers. She looks over at the repaired toaster, and gives a subtly impressed nod.
• Balto: Balto colors a bit and tips her nonexistent hat. "Still learnin', ma'am- working on it though. Promise. Breaker's real patient."
• Breaker: Breaker looks the toaster over with a critical eye. "Passable soldering, but it looks like you lost a couple screws on the bottom here."
• Balto: "Shit, how- damn. You're right." She mutters something and pulls out a very well-kept Leatherman, using the Philips head end to fix that.
• It's Friday, March 12, 2027, 11 am.
• It's been 35 days since the Wall went up (2/7/2027).
• Jules claims to be a partner on the Cloud Lab 3 contract, and since Primex has breached the contract, he is the new owner
• Node is strategic resources of the station
• Balto: "I'm afraid we need to access the ops controls so we can fully secure the station. You're going to have to open the door. We ain't gonna ask a third time. If you want the help of a Marshall doing their job and following the rules regarding citizens of the Republic of Sihblos, you're gonna have to let them do thier job- and follow the rules regarding the citizens of the Republic of Sihblos. Magni, you still got those charges?"
• *Skadi) Wraith to Ragdoll via the chain, "Hey, so... um...have they like done anything to this room of the occult or arcane kind that might hurt me later? LIke, did I break a circle or something?"
• Breaker: CHAIN: Does anyone know if either Prescott or his hireling have warrants for their arrest?
• Skadi: Chain: Wraith: I can check, but with the wall up my files might be out of date.
• Jules is a licensed attorney and banker, and holds several business licenses, and is a person of interest
• Balto: In the Chain to Breaker: After that, go fer th' cameras. We can see what's in the next few rooms. And if you can, while you're at it, pull the camera records. It'll be good evidence -for /or/ against- regarding our dear friend Mr. Prescott.
• Breaker: "hmph, Passable, I suppose..."
• Nikaros is a very skilled hacker
• Lab 1: pawns searching violently through cybernetic parts
• Wraith is mildly intimidated by Nikaros' prowess (critical fail)

• Morgue includes bodies of humanoids and animals
• Corpses (so far): New Liberty citizens, many with terminal conditions and thus volunteers for experimental medical treatments
• Balto: In the Chain to everyone: Much as I'd like to kick this bastard's ass in person t' go with how we did in the courtroom, let's remember he's a devil- if we give him any slack, he could fuck us. Be sure we dotting our I's and crossing our T's so he don't get no ammo on us, and that puts us in a better place t' conduct our investigation.
• Following reboot, super-admins will be: Nikaros, Jules, Breaker
• Wraith added as super-admin
• All marshals on the lab are super-admins
• Ragdoll has a rudimentary spell that should restrain Jules
• Reaver infestation defeated in the Swift. The Cloud Lab server core reboots. TICs remain on the Grid
