RB 5-4: A Train Job in the Fires of Perdition

Mission Report

Party: Lyndi Fletcher (Aslene), Jane Irwin (Cael), Haelra Vayn (Basil), Shiro (DragoN), Sylvi (Daewendriel), Kromrak (Sielic) Rearguard: Frislynziletheron (Aunne, absent)

The team meets Grant, an agent of Farwatch Omega. Grant is accompanied by Danja and Gatriel, who urge Raptor Blue to trust Grant. He informs them that Proud is being moved through a portal from Gehenna, onto a helltrain bound for Baator. Danja loans her Bottle of Holding to Shiro, who uses it to bring Bronislav to Gehenna. Bron catches up with the train and the team attacks. They find devils and new form of adintech golem: tin soldiers and tin mages. They also find slaves and the archive shell holding Proud. They defeat most of their enemies but meet Bolinoth the Thrice Twisted, back as a horned devil. The train plunges off its tracks towards the River Styx and Lyndron (in raptor form) tries to stop it.

Outside the Temple of Moradin

  • Team boards Bron, Bron flies after the train

Attacking the Train

  • Train [Train Wheels]
  • Turrets on the train
  • Team jumps from Bron to the roof of the 2nd car, starts clearing
  • DM: > Jane casts Control Winds to make a calm corridor of air atop the train


  • Sylvi and Gatriel clear the 2nd car of enemies, find slaves
  • Shiro and Kromrak unhook the 3rd car, which runs off the tracks and plunges into the dark
  • Lyndi and Bron shoot turrets
  • Jane and Haelra move forward on the roof
  • DM: > Heart of the Depths pulses as Raptor Blue puts down undead Tin Soldiers


  • Bolinoth the Thrice Twisted emerges and attacks
  • Max: > Bolinoth was a Dream Eater. Raptor Blue killed Bolinoth in the battle at Capparelli Elementary on November 13, 2017. Bolinoth didn't experience Final Death.


  • The train runs off the end of the tracks and plunges towards the River Styx, where it flows through a canyon
  • Lyndron takes raptor form and tries to stop the train's fall, but can only slow it
  • The train forms hydrofoils beneath it
