RB 5-10: Aftermath, Learning About Amonkhet, & Setting Out Again

Mission Report

In the aftermath of the Battle for the Barge, the Raptors investigate and coordinate. They bring the Amonkhetian refugees aboard the Tardigrade, as well as the lazotep, the spelljammer helm from the destroyed hammership and a portable League of the Rusted Crown computer core. Jane handles the absorbers (Notch and Stripes) patiently and carefully. She heals the surgical sites of the implants making them receptive to dominance. Proud discovers more of SigilNet. Lyndi explores the barge. She channels a vision from Kefnet to the whole team. The Raptors help decide the final battle at the docks. Lyndi starts a possible alliance with the githzerai. The heroes get coordinates for a secret system where the Amonkhetians can rebuild. They depart Sigil with the barge.

After the Battle

• The refugees are systematically scanned by Belica and then moved onto the Tardigrade
• Farida stays with the refugees protectively
• Vae'gaun offers to help keep the Tardigrade secure, while staying away from the refugees

• The Fraternity of Order sends Drok Forester (kobold lawyer he/him cis asex) to inspect the lazotep.
• 3 piece suit, spectacles
• Inspects, makes a rough count of it

• Bron and Kromrak, in robot form, collect spelljammer helm
• and the computer core
• but food, not so much
• Krom and Bron pass the helm and core into the Tardigrade
• Krom moves to stand by Phobos, supporting Jane's work with the absorbers

• Shiro and Sylvi hack TNN's drones, build in a backdoor, replace content with hidden nonsense (e.g., memes), block further commands, and send them back
• Shiro moves Chikara to the workshop on the Tardigrade, but prioritizes an initial evaluation of the League computer core
• Shiro cages the computer core and feeds it a false "everything is OK" background signal (n20)

• Gatriel and Ajami meet

• Jane handles the absorbers
• Notch is worrying the stitches on Stripes' neck
• Notch seems the more dominant, in an older sibling way
• Jane mends the surgical wound on Stripes, then Notch

• Belica studies the lazotep, and learns how it thins the wall between the world of the living and the dead
• Belica and Shiro collaborate on special lazotep containment crates
• Belica and Shiro are "double crating" the lazotep, leaving it in the wooden rune-marked crates the Amonkhetians put it in
• Shiro takes a whole bar of lazotep

• Proud is back on the Tardigrade and tries to find the surveillance layer of SigilNet
• He does. It's weird (some cameras are rats and birds? smell data?)
• Proud has partly hacked the surveillance feed, to create a crude 3D model of a fraction of Sigil space
• Proud focuses on developing a device/system to detect SigilNet sensors when in Sigil

• Lyndi cases the barge: Lyndi uses the VR tools from the Tardigrade to scan the Glory of Kefnet
• Draco left some software tools for such stuff
• At the top of the temple, Lyndi finds kneeling pillow, hammered silver bowl, suspended lamp with clear glass bottom, and light blue-painted dome
• Lyndi begs forgiveness if she's doing wrong, then fills the bowl with Create Water, lights the lamp, and lowers the cover

• There are tests or trials of some kind, facilitated by the gods.
• The initiates who enter in the trials learn a mantra: One From Many, By Force of Will, Forged by Might, Driven by Fire, Born by Death to Rise Eternal
• The trials teach and test five "aspects of mortal perfection" : Solidarity, Knowledge, Strength, Ambition, and Zeal.
• Haroun laments that they don't know what Amonkhet was like before Nicol Bolas came
• They know that the desert and undead had spread over most of the plane before Bolas
• Gatriel is agitated by the vision. "Something sacred has been broken and that... upsets me."

• Sylvi sees a possible pattern among the absorbers implants/antenna issue, lazotep, and the necrotic blight afflicting Grandfather Brass in the past.

• Bron, Kromrak, Tardigrade, and Aunne devastate the last League unit at the docks, destroying a spelljammer galleon
• Lyndi 4.0: *With Prejudice.

• Shiro focuses on repairing Chikara. It doesn't go well at first (ADV: 1 & 2). Lyndi asks Sylvi to help

• Isabelica talks with the refugees about lazotep
• She learns about lazotep from an aven
• Aven is Takako Blackford (she/her cis gay)

• Gatriel, Farida, and Ajami are talking combat styles in the cargo hold
• Ajami will soul bond with Sylvi, to start building an alliance with the githzerai
• The Sublime Edge of Clarity will dock at Sigil and wait for reinforcements, before they move their prisoners back to their space
• The githzerai will share some of the treasure they got along with the githyanki with the refugees

• Max gives updates
• Ougyl Icnod's motion was successful: the Raptors will receive Medals of Civic Virtue, thus giving us amnesty and canceling all bounties
• Icnod's aide, Engastin Bril, reports that some faction reps were evidently impressed not only by Raptor Blue's show of force, but also the humanitarian aspect of the op
• In particular, both the Bleak Cabal and the Transcendent Order may reconsider their neutrality in the conflict between the Unbroken Tide and the League of the Rusted Crown
• Two of the refugees are khenra twins, Valrun Focar (he/him cis het) and Indigo Focar (she/her trans gay), wish to remain in Sigil, to represent the Amonkhet diaspora. They're willing to help the Tide with public relations and diplomacy. They can try to sway the Bleakers and the Transcendent Order, and others
• Vae'gaun steps up to bodyguard the khenra. "They're part of the reason my patron sent me here."

• Max has the location of a secret system from House Skyguard
• Skyguard will accept the lazotep in exchange for giving the Amonkhet refugees a charter to live in orbit, prospect on the planet, and homestead if they wish
