Mission Report


Sat, Jan 13, 2018 ((Dec 22, 2019))
Party: Lyndi Fletcher (Aslene), Jane Irwin (Cael), Cyrus Riggs (Sielic), Proud Flame (Aunne), Cadeos (DragoN), Haelra Vayn (Basil)

The Raptors finish sweeping the Brotherhood of the Shroud hideout. They return to Chicago and make final preparations to depart. They receive several visitors, including Colonel MacLachlan of R3M, Major Hunter of Cryos, Myriad, and Wether Wakeman. They say good-bye to Nails, Joslin Young, and Chicago. While flying away, they communicate briefly with Captain Kinton of Farwatch. They jump to Themis Station. They meet Dalanos Skyguard, Master Shipwright.

Wrapping Up at the Hideout

  • Team questions Gatriel
  • "I am a fallen angel of Tempus. He trapped me here. These people excavated my prison, but then bound me in magical chains."
  • "They wished to trade me to one of Tempus' enemies."

  • Wants to return to the Outer Planes, report what happened to her friends still in Tempus' service

  • Max: Most of the guards have gone insane and scribble in books or carve on tables

Final Preparations

  • Mission Brief 4-11
    • You have the coordinates to Themis Station and the bypass frequency for Palisade, so you can jump directly to the station using Bron's jumpcore.
    • Nails: We'll try to stay in contact
    • Proud has received astronaut training and will be training the rest of the team


  • Cadeos and Haelra have finished their internships
  • Cadeos will be helping Nails form another team of Unbound on Earth

  • Visitor: Colonel MacLachlan
    • Colonel Bernard MacLachlan is a white human male. He's a tall, fit man with tanned skin and gray hair. MacLachlan neither especially handsome nor ugly. He projects authority and control. He's wearing a modest gray suit, with a R3M lapel pin. His light brown eyes are bright with perceptiveness, with smile lines and a sense of wisdom.
    • Lyndi Fletcher promoted to Major

    • The Assembler Plague was driven out of the Closeness
    • They are always looking for a way back
    • Once they learn you are outside, they will likely target you for assimilation and exploitation

    • Draco: > communicates Bron's unease that the Helm is loose
    • DM: > Discussion of countermeasures to assemblers and A-Forms
    • Max: > Equips Haelra with a spell to learn for environmental survival (e.g., in deep space)
    • Max: > which she can study and master while traveling

  • "I haven't always lived on Earth. I have friends in Sigil. I have letters for them. I should like to negotiate their safe, confidential delivery."

  • Visitor: Major Hunter
    • Major Zach Hunter is a Latinx male human soldier. He's a fit man of medium height. He moves and sits like a disciplined warrior. He's wearing arctic camouflage battle dress utilities with muted rank insignia.
    • Cryos' destiny is closely linked to Earth's, but it is not Earth's
    • Gives Cryus a Free Republic of Cryos flag (fabric version, and decals)


  • DM: > Jane gets a tat of a blue raptor on her back
  • DM: > Cy says goodbye to Vince
  • DM: > Through Cy, Raptor Blue will carry messages from Ordric Brown to his business contacts in Sigil
    • From Ordric: thick brown paper parcel, addressed to Alard Honfroi, The Honest Potter Alehouse, Grand Bazaar
  • DM: > Haelra says goodbye to Cadeos, and loads a backup spell library on Bron
  • DM: > Haelra takes some of the best pieces of the necro/arcane books and tools looted from Elysium
  • DM: > Small, incredibly high quality mobile necro lab
  • DM: "Dol'modeen identifies the Choker of the Squid as a token of allegiance to an archduke of Hell "
  • DM: > Choker of the Squid goes to Haela's keeping


  • Nails says good-bye
  • Iowa Event, Timothy Sutton, whistleblower, "Humanity trafficks with creatures of the Abyss at its Peril"
  • That wasn't Harmony


  • Jane Irwin just .. bounces in his chair, looking out through the cockpit glass. "OKAY PEOPLE - strap in!"
  • DM: > Gatriel is undercover as a R3M trooper
  • Archangel says good-bye
    • Captain Lashell Kinton and Lyndi have a conversation off the record
    • DM: > Farwatch has assets embedded in Harmonium, with the Farwatch logo on a ring
    • Proud Flame will, at first opportunity, make a very pretty steel bracelet with tribal etching... that incorporates that farwatch symbol.
    • Haelra Vayn: Haelra incorporates the farwatch symbol into one of her intricate spiked leather shoulder guards, but in a place where she could cover it with her hair easily
  • DM: > Gatriel explains that Tempus was granting spells to clerics in the League of the Rusted Crown, and she questioned this
  • Haelra Vayn: Haelra does not like Archangel
  • Jane Irwin , through the chain, "Well, it /ALMOST/ made Lyndi laugh."

Themis Station

  • Skyguard Home Fleet: Elven Metametal Ships
  • Themis Station is a mix of organic curves, crystal windows, bold spires, and domes where ships are grown/built. It orbits a ringed gas giant called Themis, in the Skyguard Home System.
    • Skyguard homeworld: Indomitable, deeper in
    • Motto: Thosi Saestay's Mar ("Fire Tempers Steel")
    • Emblem: A silver comet, on a field of crimson chased with white stars


  • Side party, boatswain's call
  • Crimson tunics, dark gray pants, black boots, silver rapiers, matte black energy carbines
  • Delanos Skyguard, cyborg elf, loose greatcoat
  • "How do you say it… 'Welcome to the final frontier.'"
  • "Safire and Ivy Skyguard were my wards." (kinda like their godfather)
  • Proud Flame bows as well - remarking, through the chain - "If LYndi honors someone, we do too. WE're her household, to them."
  • DM: > The honor guard is evidently too well disciplined to reveal anything about their reactions to all this
