Mission Report

Team: Lyndi Fletcher (Aslene), Jane Irwin (Cael), Chuck Nielson (Ari), Edward Chase (Aunne), Ryu (Dargren), Quill Draper (quorgi)

Parking Garage

  • Raptors sense a reality anchor: no scrying, alteration, conjuration, teleportation, shapeshifting, or magical healing or regeneration
  • Stranger (through a voice mask, using a megaphone) "We know you're in there, Raptors. Send Lyndi Fletcher out, unarmed."
  • Draco (via Ryu) "I am sorry, Detective Aunt Lyndi Safire Skyguard Fletcher. All telecommunications are jammed. I am unable to move or sense far beyond my sensei."
  • Stranger (through a voice mask, using a megaphone) "We're not going anywhere, and neither are you. We have explosives ready. But we would prefer to talk."
  • Some discussion of options, context, and a plan
  • Lyndi coaches Bron through sending a text to Nails
  • Raptors step out as a team
  • Underground parking garage; cars as barricade; blinded by work lights
  • Masked leader with sniper rifle; female street shaman; gang bangers and gang enforcers
  • Lyndi dirties lights, enemies open fire
  • Quill shatters two of the lights using Shatter, casts Sacred Flame, Spiritual Weapon
  • Ed sneaks around, grapples and knocks out gang banger, finds reality anchor and telecommunications jammer in back of truck, destroys anchor and powers down jammer
  • Ryu rushes forward, catches bullets, does a lot of damage, takes a lot of damage
  • Jane uses Ice Knife, her bear totem, and heals
  • Chuck charges in, stabs enforcer, lifts truck and shoves it towards enforcer
  • Quill decapitates a gang banger with a necromantic Inflict Wounds slap
  • Ryu tells Draco to summon Bron, Bron confirms orders with Lyndi, who tells him to stay cloaked and above the building
  • Ryu goes down
  • Lyndi brings Ryu back, Ryu unmasks leader as Lena Mikhalov, nearly takes her out
  • Ed shoots Lena with sneak attack, takes her down
  • Chuck: "He surrendered, so I guess I can't truck him."
  • Jane uses Healing Word on Lena to save her
  • Nails notifies Raptors that Farwatch team incoming, recommends they leave prisoners and evidence
  • Draco explains that team is an empty office building undergoing renovation
  • Ed: At some point, when there is an opportunity, Ed will speak, very quietly, to Lena: "Twice we've saved your life. And you threw mine away for your own reasons, you dishonorable bitch. And you hurt my friends. What would you do if you were me, right now?"
  • Lena feels a spell coming, panics and tries to tell Ryu something, is disintegrated by purple and black fire
  • Ryu, Chuck, Lyndi stay for questioning, with stabilized shaman, knocked-out banger, two enforcers who surrendered
  • Other Raptors evacuate via roof and Bron
  • Raptors hole up in Fort, Farwatch questions them
