Path Steps
OOC
!!! We're not currently using these rules. Instead, see: Flair, Groove, and Source
Your personal path is an individual story you experience throughout a campaign. We track it in the Google Doc for your PC. If you're a core player, then each week I write a new "path step" at the bottom. Sometime during a session, I'll tell you to read your path step.
You're not required to do more than read your path step. However, if you want to play a more active role, you have some options to collaborate with me on your path. Unlike wheels, you will (almost) never need to roll an ability check. Rather, here some possible ways you can collaborate with me. In the Google Doc, write a pose in which you:
- Role-play with an NPC (e.g., start a conversation, send a text message).
- Role-play connecting with your source (e.g., working in your lab, praying, practicing your martial art).
- Request some information from a contact or organization. The topic could be something the team is working on or just something of interest to you (as a PC or player).
- Work on a wheel. This could give you advantage when working on that wheel, or even 1 or more points on the wheel.
Other collaborations are also possible. In any case, there's no length requirement. Rather, please provide enough details to express where you hope your path will go. (You can include an OOC note, too.) The key word is "hope" because your actual path will sometimes be different than you expected.
I usually write your path step on the day we play. So if you want to add to your path, please do so before that day. Of course, if you don't have a chance, you can write in a different place and paste it in after the session.
