Raptor Blue found these fragments in the mechadead lab within Fortune's Edge on Tessera (RB 3-5). Draco decrypted the fragments.

  • Jan 21, 2000: The construction of the Final Pyramid has begun. The Grandmaster's army shall be unstoppable.
  • Nov 5, 2004: Preparations on Amonkhet are nearing completion. Our contributions must be ready on time or our efforts will have been in vain.
  • Dec 21, 2004: We have failed. The Final Pyramid was completed, but the Grandmaster was betrayed and trapped! If only we had been faster. If only our improved soldiers could have been part of his forces. But no matter. The Master insists we shall free our lord, perhaps using the weapons we are perfecting. Our work shall yet serve the cause!
  • Apr 25, 2006: The Master inspires confidence in us. The Master says even in his prison, the Grandmaster can reach us with his power, can aid our work. His warlocks still channel his power, for instance.
  • Nov 2, 2008: The work is slow. We need more bloodstones, and larger ones. We cannot test our control of shadowfringe unless we can create and test more of them, more often.
  • Aug 29, 2009: We have bargained with Astrid Bluegrease for a new facility. She knows where a graven hulk fell, in a remote location. The heart is not fully ruptured. The intact bloodstones will be perfect for the work.
  • May 10, 2011: Astrid is brilliant but unreliable. We know she makes deals with other powers. She doesn't wish to pledge herself utterly to the Grandmaster or the Master. Still, her ideas for mechanical enhancements are worthwhile. They remind us of the Grandmaster's vision for his elite soldiers. We may lack lazotep, but we may get even better results from iron and copper.
  • Oct 14, 2012: The Church of the Reverence of the Eternals has decried bloodstones. It will become harder to obtain these essential ingredient in our research. We shall not relent. Glory to the Master! Glory to the Grandmaster!
  • Dec 9, 2012: Some guards and staff have abandoned the cause. When we have the time and resources, we should track them down and punish their treachery.
  • Mar 21, 2013: More desertions. We shall complete the work ourselves. Glory to the Master!
  • Aug 1, 2013: It's becoming difficult to maintain the road and bring in supplies. The ice is slow but steady. It is relentless in its insistence. Such inexorable strength would be inspiring, if burning it back and the long journeys for supplies didn't take away so much precious time from the work.
  • Jul 22, 2016: We have a new partner! A merchant company from another world is willing to aid us, in exchange for applying our arts to create and control fighting beasts they wish to sell. The League arranged this felicitous partnership.
  • Sep 4, 2016: The merchants' experts have strange new materials and techniques to directly act upon the brains of the soldiers. We are excited by this new avenue for controlling them.
  • Oct 3, 2017: A party of Unbound heroes has killed Astrid Bluegrease. (There are no signs they know her connection with us.) This will complicate our supply chain. But at least we are free from her uneven contributions. This facility is truly ours, now. Thankfully, the alien merchants are generous with their resources.
  • Nov 11, 2017: We are told that the kings of another world will soon strengthen the great barrier, which they call the Breakwater. We already know that the barrier is what makes shadowfringe possible, by driving ghosts into the husks of mindless undead. Perhaps if the barrier is strengthened, the greater interference will disrupt the link between a husk and its ghost. With careful observation of the effects of the stronger barrier, we can better understand this link.
  • Dec 10, 2017: Calamity! The Master has been defeated. The apprentices will rise. Some already know of this facility, and the rest may learn. We must not be here when they come. Our partner's experts have already departed, taking much of their special tools with them. We must follow. We will set the guardians and take what we can.
