The Bloodstone War took place on Tessera.

At first, the Bloodstone War was simply called "the war." It started when forces of the Shangon Empire crossed the boundary the Freelands Republic had set as their western border. In 2000, Imperial artificers developed the first bloodstones. Within a year, some Republic states either reverse-engineered bloodstones or discovered their own process for creating them. The use of bloodstones came to define the war, hence the name.

The war started to end with the discovery of the Blood Debt. It formally ended in the Truce of Foxhollow.
