Mission Report

Team: Delly (Cael), Fonn (Dragon), Ikhilzis (Blank), Lae'eni (Blank), Lottie (Basil), Smokes (Aunne), Ulthane (Sielic), Zenovi (Blank)

The team defeated the city shadows. You also got Clara and the other civilians out of the Starbucks. The city gloom dissipated, but not before Delly grabbed a sample. Smokes and Fonn secured the sample using their own paramatter. Clara explained how she found paramatter samples near the Bunker. She obtained a containment matrix and used the paramatter to make her skateboard. The Daedalus Concord helped her get the matrix and told her to give the paramatter to "the good guys." So Clara gave her skateboard to Smokes, in exchange for a new, mundane skateboard. You said goodbye to Clara, with RJ arranging for R3M to contact Clara and her aunt about Clara's future on the Edge. RJ explained that the attack probably came from the Spirit of Anger or the Spirit of Ambition. In either case, Rixa Galdan of Talarin can help. You drove across town to Rosslyn to meet Rixa. She agreed to help, in exchange for a favor.

  • City Shadows dim the lights of the Starbucks
  • Ulthane Stonebeard: The necrotic miasma is so strong it made the hammer cut through a table, instead of smashing it. Don't let it touch you lol.
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly evades the attacks aimed at her with speed and grace that is quite literally death defying- each hit couldend her, but she's simply not where their strikes fall. Her blades sing as she returns the blows in kind, and nearly roar when she attacks with arcane magic.
  • (Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw): - As a random cool thing, if you set your sheet to 'combat', down at the bottom where it says 'mode', it will only retain Things you Still Can Do on your character sheet. E.g. , spells with no slots fall off, items used up go away, class features drop away, et. al.
  • Lottie cuts through the gloom vines and Smokes helps Clara escape
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Come along dear - don't go far. Breathe."
  • City Shadows don't like sunlight
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly flicks shadowy ichor off her blade and grins, slightly, a breathless thing- joyful, almost, thrumming, with heat flickering off her, her eyes limmed very faintly gold in the dim. Her bloodied clothes show mended skin beneath, now. The combination of eager joy and that strange lucidty is uncommon, at best.
  • When the city gloom recedes from Starbucks, the signs of battle are erased
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: Smokes keeps contact with Clara - reassuring - but is in fact watching the fight. There's calculation there - "Breathe. Remember. Running attracts predators - I'll protect you, just - breathe."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: ".... that was rather impressive, Ulthane. I wish I had that sort of coordination."
  • Fonn Razorenth: Fonn, twisting to look around the cafe, smiles a little. Two shadows' remnents are drifting off her rapier and there's not a scratch on her boots. She rather likes fighting these enemies.
  • Lottie: Worst case scenario, we could say gas leak?
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Intriguing. I wonder if it is paradimensional? That is a powerful spirit - but the effect is intriguing. If I had that sort of actual power... perhaps you can, Delly, one day. Do you see? It's a sort of... area effect reality alteration." (chain)
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "Plausible enough." Delly exhales, slowly, sheathing her weapons back into the instrument case.
  • Civilians inhaled black dust and forgot the battle. Clara coughed it out and remembers
  • Lottie sends blanks to get car and motorcyle
  • Fonn Razorenth: Fonn leans over the butter-grease area with an eyebrow raised. "Smokes, how hard is this to clean up?"
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "It'll vanish in a minute. It's not real."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "... it's a lot of fun, too, if you enjoy skating."
  • Fonn Razorenth: She nods, a little impressed. "It would be fun to train with."
  • Lottie: Note to self: Add sample vials to standard kit, also requisition a shield.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "I have never been very.. *powerful*. So most of what I know is designed to augment those who are. I can create a vast number of interesting effects for training, given time." She grins.
  • Lottie: :"Oh! I wish to go lake-walking! I read that was predicted to be invented in the year 2000!"
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: The 'ritual' takes the form of a black ribbon, one that winds around the jar lid, then once around the jar itself. "Be bound darkness, be bound - I bind thee above below and beside. I surround thee, and I bind thee. "
  • Delly grabs a sample of City Gloom, and Fonn and Smokes separate and blend some of their paramatter to contain it
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "THings for training?" Delly says with interest.
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly examines herself cinically, from where the one hit nearly cleaved her in two. She shrugs and pulls out a hooded REM sweatshirt, slipping it on over the blood.
  • Lottie: Lottie says a little prayer of thanks to Belica and a short thank you to Shiro as she easily shealths her rapier into her robot body
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: Mm-hmm. Training. Fate, flying objects, ribbons - more, later, I suppose.
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "...This kid is a genuis. We need to be sure she is protected. Great Cat's claws.
  • Fonn Razorenth: Fonn listens intently to Clara's explanation. She might be noting it for future use
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: Mm. We need to address her precotiousness, certainly - but ... I'm not sure what real help we can offer. Training, at least. Guidance.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: ... aww. I forgot my coffee.
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "Well, now we know who is probably trying to kill her."
  • Lottie: I think she has more training than we do at this point but I agree she needs protection
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: .... I think I have uncovered my mission outside of this compact of ours.
  • Clara got a paramatter containment matrix that was stolen from a Primex courier, sold on eBay. Daedalus Concord hacked the auction to get the matrix to Clara, who made her skateboard
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "Her AND her friend, Abby. She's also nvolved."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "if nothing else, I can teach them proper decorum and caution."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw buys Clara pads. Clara doesn't /want/ pads, but Smokes patpats her hand and says - "There's going to come a time when you and I will need to talk more. You'll want them then. Just - stuff them in a closet, and remember them later."
  • Lottie: Lottie knits in the car with the door open outside the shop
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly is DELIGHTED to drive the Ducati, and grins possibly the widest you've ever seen from her.
  • To Talarin, parking on the street
  • Left with vehicles: Ikhilzis and Zenovi
  • Fonn Razorenth: Fonn is the type of driver that laser-focuses on the road and tunes out everything inside the vehicle.
  • 5:45 pm
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Snow pokes his headout of the backpack as they walk in, again disguised as a white rabbit with blue eyes.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw sighs, quietly. "... There is nothing easy about Elves. At least they are only elves." (chain)
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "Gee, thanks."
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly seems more dryly amused than offended.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "I love you dearly, Delly - and admire your skill and humor -- but admittedly, your relatives are an *interesting* people, as a rule."
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "A fair judgement."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Perhaps it's simply perspective. Living as long as they do - people like mine are barely flickers against their perception. Interchangeable to most."
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "Talarin isn'tperfect- but they've done some good in the world, if nothing else. If they think that though they're idiots."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "..> Delly. I am the oldest kobold in history from my warren. Believe me, it isn't idiocy when a diplomat changes every few months."
  • Talarin did a presser on the TIN (being taken down when the team arrives)

  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "It seems wrong nonetheless. Life comes and goes, as is dictated buy species; death is just a part of it, andI don't like the idea of looking down on shorter lived beings in the least."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Then you are a gift."
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly chuckles. "I'm not sure I should be thanked for common courtesy, but thank you, nonetheless. You did well with the butter today."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Simple tricks and nonsense - you should see my horn."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw settles in... sitting on the table edge and letting her (longer) legs dangle, absently... and actually pulls out a /pipe/. An actual, old-school pipe. One she packs with something that smells faintly of cloves and ... mint?
  • Lottie: Lottie is like eating bitters and drinking melted ice like "yes. food."
  • Lottie: i googled bitters they arent a food im revealing im not cool rip
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw puffs her pipe alight. The smoke is /smoke/, but isn't excessive in quantity. Then, she blows a smoke ring. In the shape of a dragon. That flaps its wings and then poofs with a silent roar.
  • GM [Elvish]: [Translation] Here, madam, is your Silver Sunrise over Lost Heart Bay
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw [Elvish]: [Translation] .... oh, that is lovely.
  • Ulthane Stonebeard: Ulthane, seeing the salad, channels Ron, "That is the food my food eats."
  • Receptionist is Christopher Barrueco (he/him)
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Snow sits very prmly on the table and eats with remarkable dignity.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw [Common]: Ha! It does seem a bit ... uh. Leafy, doesn't it?
  • Ulthane Stonebeard: "Saltines are the closest most folk get to traditional Dvaren hardtack. It almost makes me homesick."
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw blows a smoke-form of a soldier - from the moment when one seemed 'irish' and 'civil war'. The detail is remarkable, for the few seconds it lasts. She studies it curiously. "I have a certain appreciation for spicy dwarven roast ... I have no idea what it was, but it was perfect. Hardtack doesn't sound nearly as appetizing."
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "Snow is an omnivore, and enjoys good greens."

  • Rixa was seeing off a Japanese delegation
  • Fonn Razorenth: Fonn quietly eyes her outfit. She wonders where she shops
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: Smokes puffs out a quizzical Brother Iron, a copy of the survielance video where he was staring at his bed. It's not bad.
  • Lottie: Lottie does not lie but she is careful to not overshare
