Mission Report

Friday, March 12, 2027 ((2023-09-24)) Team: Balto (ABSENT), Doc (Dae), Key (Mike), Breaker (ABSENT), Pebble (Basil), Skadi (Aslene), Wraith (Mike)

Skadi, Balto, and Key spoke with Ny about the previous encounter. Skadi arranged a part-time job with the Companions Guild. Then we prepared to aid Louisa Vyner and Dr. Campbell. Dr. Clayton explained that Louisa was being treated for a traumatic memory of a gunfight in a convenience store. This fit with what Doc had initially seen in her mind.

Doc scouted Louisa's mind more deeply, with extraordinary clarity and stealth. She confirmed that Louisa was being held and tortured by demons. Dr. Campbell was bound, beaten, and unconscious. We entered the Swift with stealth and surprised most of the demons. The demonic soldiers are fighting with reckless ferocity, while their leader is attacking from invisibility.

• Reeze, Balto and Key spoke with Ny and apologized for any fear that was caused during the previous encounter. The entire time Balto was using insight to make sure the girl was receptive and okay. Before this conversation they had a conversation with Isolde to ask for Ny to have a job working with plants in exchange for makeup and hair lessons/equipment from the companions.

• Louisa, as a teenager studying in New Liberty, was a bystander in a convenience store gunfight between two robbers and an off-duty cop. One robber's shot hit the head of another shopper and the brain matter splattered on Louisa.

• In the memory the psion showed Doc, Louisa Vyner's eyes were closed. She seemed semi-conscious: she was slowly shaking her head back and forth, and her lips were moving soundlessly. Louisa seemed deeply tormented--emotionally more than physically. She was bound on a Saint Andrew's Cross with bands of flickering black and purple energy at her wrists and ankles. Her bondage and suspension were clearly magical, since she wasn't sagging against them. It is as if being on the cross made her weightless.
