RMJ 2-10: Clearing Cloud Lab 3 and Freeing Ragdoll

Mission Report

Team: Balto (Cael), Doc (Dae), Key (Dragon), Breaker (Wynnri), Pebble (ABSENT), Ragdoll (Keneux), Skadi (Aslene), Wraith (Mike)

We continued to sweep, protect, neutralize in the Cloud Lab, both on the Grid and in the Swift. The Grid team defeated the Reaver TICs in Lab 2 and freed Ragdoll from a stasis tube. We also freed his partner, Grizzly. She is in poor health due to extensive surgeries to add experimental cybernetic implants. We learned that Cloud Lab has been studying the orbital array in orbit around Sihblos and the natural resources of Icewind Plateau. The Swift team swept and cleared the station operations nodes, and then moved north into the research nodes. We found a powerful machine intelligence resisting final infestation by Reavers.

  • Pebble (absent): I am a capable oddity who will use my belief in fate to help the team and those we come across.
• Key: My best friend would joke that I never stopped being an honors student in high school. They'd call me ambitious and focused and married to my work. Of corse, they're my coworker, so their bias is unsurprising. I mean, we both prefer serving the world through our work in favor of a more private career. My enemies would call that idealistic, most likely, or at least disagree. I know my greatest enemy would be a selfish, destructive loner -- the opposite of what I stand for. So, I suppose they'd hate me to. I try to think it comes from envy, not evil.

• It's been 35 days since the Wall went up (2/7/2027).
• The station life support system can provide a map.
• Skadi: Reeze watches the bolt zing from Doc's body, then slow down and digitize, glitching three times before it finds its target. "Huh." She says thoughtfully. "That's a little odd."
• 3 test subjects: 1 in deep coma, 1 sedated, 1 is Ragdoll
• The team defeats the first contact foes on the Grid and Swift
• Swift: SE is station systems. W is executive and operations.
• Balto: Balto will put Togo on Lookout cause his Notice is way better than mine, and I will see if there's a way to get the awake fella out of his pod.

• Cloud Lab 3 was positioned to move between the stratosphere and the exosphere. The exosphere of Sihblos includes the orbital array.
• Cloud Lab 3 includes advanced, upward-facing sensors studying the exosphere. It also has advanced ground-facing sensors. The staff have been conducting a detailed survey of Icewind Plateau, including a comprehensive inventory of resources on and below the surface. The staff have also been searching for something deep underground, on a set of specific electromagnetic and gravimetric wavelengths.

  • Sonia "Grizzly" Corbyn, Republic Marshal, partner to Ragdoll
• Sonia has had extensive surgery, possibly implants
• Balto: Balto and Togo- in the same sort of movement, together, an uncanny sort of synchonicity- turn to take watch. She gives him a click-whistle that ends in a warbling chirp, and he responds in kind; every once in a while he makes a clicking noise that is more felt than heard. Balto holds a spear, a hunting spear with a sturdy crossguard, in her hands.
• Fabrication is building small-scale TIC Red Iron Crabs
• Breaker introduces subtle malware that will cause the crabs to malfunction
• Implants in Grizzly: paranormal because weird science, using Arcane as a source. Inactive. No obvious signs of Reavertec, but the fimware code in each implant would need to be carefully inspected for spy/malware.
• The main research computer node is a very advanced system. It has been isolated from the datahold and the Grid, but it resisting infestation
• There is a tinge of Infernal Arcane energy around the node
