RB 6-13: Through the Dig Site

Mission Report

Absent: Kromrak (Sielic) (returns to Bron to intercept AForms outside the habitat); Isabelica (Basil) (transforms into Vae'gaun)

The team finishes the fight with the hunter-killers. In the midst of it, Vae'gaun replaces Belica. The heroes find gray matter in the HKs, with magitec-modified memory gems inside. The team finishes sweeping the archaeology module, then descends via elevator the dig site. The site is abandoned, with the work of studying the buried illithid facility left incomplete. The team gets the drop on another swarm of AForms. They kill most of them and move to finish off the last HKs.

• The team continues fighting the AForms
• Isabelica transforms into Vae'gaun

Finishing the Sweep of the Archaeology Module

• Chikara explores the vents
• Chikara uses vent echo like sonar to explore (n20)
• Kromrak gets healed, joins Bron, and the two of them go hunting for threats moving outside the habitat
• Shiro sets up an electric trap in the airlock, with a hornet watching, and then hard seals the door to the corridor
• Jane and Vae find two memory gems, turned into implants, within the gray matter nodes inside the HKs
• Kromrak and Bron are fighting AForms out in the open water
• The team uses the assembler-dissolving acidic spray they got from the Skyguard station garrison

The Dig Site

• The team descends on the elevator
• Vae'gaun: "Your friend, Isabelica. Her presence was required for certain negotiations. They had to be immediate."
• The dig site is neglected and falling apart, with the seawater and grave mud slowly reclaiming it
• The Yarod Angara facility sank and was buried in grave mud
• The Death Dragons excavated part of it, then stopped excavation
• The scouts sense AForms in the tunnel to the cloning lab

Memory Gems 217 & 317

• Gem 217: (A scientist is briefing a meeting...) "Quarsis is an illithid elder brain. Some call them the Patient One, because they're known or suspected of executing plans that take decades. We extrapolate that Quarsis wants to master ceremorphosis on dragons, believing that this will allow the illithids to reclaim their empire. They had some initial success: they created drathids through the ceremorphosis of dragonborn. Quarsis may have secretly been guiding the Brotherhood of the Shroud in their experiments with adintech on fey."

• Gem 317: (A scientist is recording a voice memo…) "They have taken the primary elevator and the decontamination station. We have sealed the airlocks but cannot hold them for long. The ground shakes… drills, drills in the deep. We cannot take off. The silver moves in the dark. We cannot take off. They are coming."
