Returning the Book

• Raptors leave the Night Market, decide to return the book before hunting for the hydra
• Haelra remembers her education on how not to make deals with fae, don't speak weird runes outloud that you don't understand, don't put on unknown magic gear, etc. She sees that as vital education and is like-- Why won't you teach kids this?
• DM: >> Jane uses Volo's Guide to brief the team on hydras and their threat
• DM: >> Team discusses battle plans
• Team visits Granny Bones Bookshop
• Granny Bones is upstairs in magical closet, working on inventory with the help of some sprites
• DM: >> Proud returns The Silver Kiss of Dawn to Granny Bones
• Granny Bones shares what she knows of the Circus (see Circus Divergia)
• Haelra Vayn: Haelra seems more than mildily perturbed by shadar-kai
• Jane asks for intel on Dol'modeen
• One sprite, Honeycomb, is knowledgeable about goods
• GB: >> The Silver Kiss of Dawn is a collection of poetry written by a beholder
• GB: >> Offers to loan the book on Dol'modeen, in exchange for the appearance of Jane's eyes. No one else can read the book and no harm will come to the book
• GB: >> The book describes a variety of gods and rituals, with a particular focus on marriage and fertility rites
• Jane agrees
• GB: >> Jane's eyes are plain gray orbs

Hydra Hunt

• Team drives to the area of Indiana Harbor
• Haelra studies Fireball while Proud scouts the storm sewer

• DM: >> Jane encourages the seagulls to come to the Fort, and they'll think about it
• Haelra feels watched and casts Modernkaninen's Private Sanctum (nat 20)
• DM: >> Haelra realizes that Flame Littleriver knows a lot about elemental fire magic, and enjoys reading this version of fireball
• Proud finds signs of the hydra, including claw marks, scales, and scent
• DM: >> Chicago PD SUV arrives, youth appears from shadows and gets in
• Teeq, a teen black male human, wearing jeans and a Chicago Bulls parka
• Draco: >> That CPD SUV is assigned to Police Officer Marco Fernan. He's 33, born in Chicago. Latinx male. No special notes on his file. Some social media hits of locals posing with him. He seems to have a positive reputation in the neighborhood.
• Draco: >> The youth is Teeq Tyson. 17 years old. Senior at a local high school. No criminal record. Father is a security guard at a nearby shipping warehouse.
