Absent: Lyndi Fletcher (Aslene) working a case as a detective

Battle Aftermath

  • DM: > The humidity of the jungle means the heroes are likely sweaty after the combat
  • Undead destroyed: 6 (1 ape + 3 in an abomination + 2 in an abomination + 0 for gnarljak)
  • DM: > Mechadead ape is a more primitive model than those in the Berrett Aifrfield foundry
  • DM: > Pool of mechadead ape toxin is a magical marker, with an ethereal taint
  • Proud explores rooms to the north
    • DM: > French army surplus ammo bins
    • DM: > 7.62 NATO rounds
    • DM: > In 2nd bunkroom, nest with corrupted eggs
  • Examining the abominations
    • DM: > Abominations were self-assembled from wild dogs and apes. Were chain-leashed but chains rusted and broke
    • DM: > Each abomination was capable of launching three gnarljaks
  • Retrieving the bloodstone from the first abomination
    • DM: > Jane bobbles the bloodstone heart, which hits the floor and cracks
    • DM: > Draco detects voice of a dragon in the bloodstone
    • Draco summons Cyrus to help destroy the bloodstones
    • DM: > Cyrus (sword) and Haelra (cup) destroy the bloodstone and free the dragon soul
  • Retrieving the bloodstone from the second abomination
    • Nomusa mentions that her mom told her stories of the Order of Silver Comets
    • DM: > Jane almost drops but catches the 2nd bloodstone
    • DM: > Jane senses a fuzzy "giant" like life sign from the bloodstone
    • DM: > Dragon soul disguised as a giant soul
    • DM: > Cyrus (sword) and Haelra (cup) destroy the 2nd bloodstone and free the dragon soul
  • Draco: (mostly to themself) This is very wrong. Dragon souls in bloodstones.

Deeper into the Lab

  • Team finds the mess hall, kitchen, checkpoint, armory
  • DM: > At least 12 fighting personnel were stationed here
  • DM: > Nomusa discerns that the armory didn't have less lethal weapons for capturing specimens
  • DM: > Jane uses Produce Flame
  • DM: > Cyrus adds handkerchief to wolf, casts Light on the handkerchief
  • Team descends into the lower level, finds some flooding
  • Hallways
  • When Proud approaches northern room, Caterina's Arcane Guardian appeared
  • From a distance, Guardian opens the doors to the southern rooms, release three mechadead wild dogs
  • Battle ensues
    • Proud, Cyrus, Jane, and Haelra fight Guardian to the north
    • Cadeos, Draco, Nomusa, and wolves fight wild dogs to the south
  • Guardian has a Withering Miasma aura, casts Blight
  • Jane casts Tidal Wave on Guardian
  • Haelra casts Lightning Bolt on Guardian
  • DM: > Miasma: Jane's Max HP are reduced by 14
  • DM: > Like the ape, these wild dogs appear to be a more primitive version of mechadead R&D
  • DM: > compared to the specimens in the airfield foundry
  • DM: > Nomusa cast Cure Wounds on Cadeos
  • DM: > Nomusa casts Entangle on wild dog, successfully
