Palisade is a powerful barrier that prevents almost all communication and travel in the Closeness.

Palisade 1.0

Palisade is a technomancy technology created by Farwatch to temporarily strengthen the Breakwater. The details are secret. The effect was to temporarily bolster the barrier around the Closeness, making it much more difficult to transit the border for a limited time.

Palisade was based on an array of satellites in orbit around several worlds in the Closeness. These satellites contain a mix of advanced technology and powerful magic items. Palisade originally had a limited duration. After that, the array needed significant time to reset and/or components need to be replaced.

In theory, since Palisade fit with the Monolith Doctrine, Farwatch didn't need CRA permission to use it. In practice, the Government Bloc on CRA did notify the other members and the observers before activating Palisade for the first time on November 16, 2017.

Farwatch may have been inspired to develop Palisade by the Silence: a period of 99 years on Tessera during which the gods were out of touch with mortals.

Palisade didn't impede communication and transit among the worlds in the Closeness, including Earth, Tessera, and Sihblos.

Palisade 2.0

The Council of Gevoka seized Palisade and upgraded it. Many beings now call it the Wall.
