Mother's Children

The Mother's Children are Human nomads descended from Scandinavians. These nomads call themselves "Sihblosians."

Sihblosians are divided into clans, and each clan is composed of many families.

Sihblosians nomads worship the Defiant Mother.

Origins

The Sihblosians were brought to Sihblos by the Reaver Combine, to serve as slaves. The Sihblosians eventually overthrew their masters.

Sihblosians live aboard giant mechanical spiders called walkers. There are several kinds of walkers

Hearth walkers are the centers of Sihblosian society. They are mobile communities, including onboard agriculture and manufacturing. Each clan has a flotilla of many hearth walkers. Each hearth walker has one or more families aboard, depending the size of the walker and the sizes of the families.
Military walkers protect the hearth walkers. They range away from the flotillas, for scouting, hunting, gathering, salvaging, and transporting cargo. The crews cycle over time. Sihblosians see military walkers as a necessity, while heath walkers are their homes.
Free walkers are a small number of walkers unaffiliated with a clan.

Ms. Foley is permitted to wear a weapon out of respect for her people's traditions. From age 3 onward, Sihblos nomads never go about unarmed.
