In the NCR, when a CAT registers with the Rational Ascendancy, each member is issued a black ID card. The card is a tamper-resistant magitec item. It marks the holder as an approved operative. The first digit in the ID number indicates the operative's status on the Edge:

• 1: Foreign Sleeper
• 2: Domestic Sleeper
• 3: Foreign Edgewalker
• 4: Domestic Edgewalker
• 5: Farwatch
