Morning Briefing

• Magic items being cleansed
• Any other housekeeping
  • Dante's phone has text messages that incriminate Dante in Wasteland (Jane gave it to Max)
• Max explains: Joe on a remote assignment for R3M
• Draco's request
  • Zenith comes in by permission
  • Zenith is helping Draco grow
  • Zenith has Draco explain the authority of Farwatch in the United States
  • They classify beings like us, nova intelligentsia, as AI, or artificial intelligence
  • Treat us as immigrants
  • We must accept severe restrictions on our behavior, such as not coexisting at several locations simultaneously
  • There is an exception: bonding with a US citizen who takes responsibility for me, much like parent or a spouse
  • Ryu volunteers to bond with and host Draco
  • Ajami can help create this bond

• Bandit leads heroes to Father D's compound
• 5 street children coming back from gathering supplies

  • "What is your business with Father D?"
• Children use smartphones to monitor satellite coverage, cover themselves with thermal shields
• Heroes uses inflatable polymorphic shield
• High school turned into armed compound
  • Only kids
  • Cooking, cleaning, repairing, making bullets
• "When you get too big, they take you"
• Father D is Draco as a computer core jumble
• Webcam: "Ryu?"

The future that won't be

• Elementary school
• Searching for Draco

• Jane finds picture on wall
• Damian Young, black boy, coloring in the classroom
• Jane and Stygi interact with Damian
• He's coloring a picture of the R3M heroes on a castle battlement

• Out into the hallway. Eye contact: "Ryu?"

The past that was

• Tiered fortress city
• Ajami: "This is.. is Qaurenzend… the past that was?"
• Night time, thunderstorm, not raining yet
• Under assault by an army of duergar and devils, defended by mostly elves and humans
• Skyship docked at the top
• Dark arcanist moving upwards, with a squad of duergar carrying a bound prisoner
• Heroes fight 1 duergar
• Three other heroes on the stairs above
  • Male elf paladin with sword and knife (Safire Skyguard)
  • Female half-orc barbarian with dire maul (Dura Graybow)
  • Female dragonborn cleric with staff and spells (Eshlix Anzaar)
• Heroes fight 1 wounded bearded devil, Lyndi gets killing blow
• Arcanist on the staircase uses staff to throw black ball of power
• Bridge explodes, other heroes fall in front of the Team
• Lyndi feels recognition with elf paladin
• Cleric makes eye contact with Ryu: "Ryu?"
• Ryu asks how Draco feels: "confused"
