House Skyguard is one of the oldest, most-honored, and most-respected elven families.

While some Skyguard members have risen to rule on planets and in Tanyth Aramont, most have instead distinguished themselves as warriors, generals, military strategists, military educators, and explorers. The House is famous (or infamous) among the elven aristocracy for producing a significant number of adventurers and self-made champions. By tradition, the House typically rewards young members for boldness and courage; most high-ranking senior members have colorful personal histories of wanderlust, romance, and even joining in other races' wars.

Lionel Talarin says, "As for the Skyguards, they have a long and proud history." He produces and offers a second mini-tablet. He seems capable of simply drawing them out of thin air, and does so with a throwaway ease that is probably calculated to show off. "You'll find they are a rather militant house, that rewards the wanderlust and derring-do of youth with higher rank and authority later in life." He purses his lips in judgment. "Their honor is above reproach, of course. But kindling and even celebrating a predilection for so-called 'adventuring'..." He trails off in mildly theatrical disappointment.
