RMS 1-1: Finding the Earthsea

We met for the first time as a full team. We completed a short tactical drill in virtual reality: we practiced the basic Sweep, Protect, Neutralize Standard Operating Procedure (SPN SOP). We followed up on the intel from King Peliahd by traveling to the fallen walker. We flew a thopter the last few miles through a blizzard, with Dex piloting and Denatos keeping watch.

We found an area of mud pits with a "bloom" of trap weeds. We also found the walker: the Earthsea. With SilentStorm's lead, we landed atop the walker. We found a memory bead showing a girl being attacked by trap weeds. Inside the walker, we found a trap weed. While RON coaxed it into biting a survey pole, Haze persuaded it to look elsewhere for food.

• Memory Bead: This is a moment just inside the hatch of a walker pod. Several trap weeds are flinging themselves at the open hatch. Their spiked vines are ripping apart the external insulation. The spikes make short, high-pitched scratching sounds when they reach the metal underneath. A pre-teen girl has fallen backwards in surprise. She has bright red hair and panicky green eyes. She's wearing a sturdy jumpsuit customized with Sharpie art of gears and pistons. One of the weeds has wrapped a vine around her calf. The girl is struggling to crawl backwards away and free herself.
