Republic Marshals Standard Kit
Gear
[This list is currently being revised.]
Overview
This is the gear issued to a Republic Marshal. You can remove anything you wish. You may add additional gear, with the DM's permission. While many things in the standard kit are cutting-edge technology, none of them are paranormal.
Most of the standard kit is for combat operations. Much of the time, you can keep everything in a large suitcase, except for your P3. You should decide what you wear as "street clothes," including anything from the standard kit.
P3
Many items in the standard kit are networked with your P3. P3 is short for Personal Communication, Control, and Computation. A P3 looks like a smartphone, but it's far more powerful and sophisticated. Your P3 is linked to your own gear, as well as the P3s of other members of the team. A P3 can be used to access the Aegis Network. A standard P3 includes the following functions:
- Global Positioning System (GPS), including software for mapping, navigating, ranging, and locating
- Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) beacon and sensor
- Transceiver, including audio and video, with full spectrum access (including radio, microwave/cellular, satellite, and television)
- Multimedia software, including playback and recording
- Biomonitoring software
- Personal organizer, including phone book, calendar, etc.
- Other software to support P3 gear in the standard kit (e.g., goggles and gesture interface)
Some operatives have a surgically-implanted device that functions as a biomonitor and personal locator. The locator function can be turned on and off. Alternatively, you can wear a wristband with these functions. The standard kit includes a rollout keyboard for use with a P3. However, during combat operations, most operatives use digital goggles, an earphone, and gesture gloves to interface with their P3s. You may upgrade your P3 with additional functions, with the DM's permission.
