Walker-tec includes advanced, compact fusion reactors that run on water and vent hydrogen and oxygen. The secrets of building and maintaining these reactors is a gift from the Defiant Mother.
The enormous power output from the reactors has inspired the Mother’s Children to pioneer advanced electrical systems and applications. These applications include:
- Large, dense capacitors
- The artificial muscles of walkers
- Rechargeable power cells
- Forcefields, including deflectors and shields
- Gauss cannons
- Lasers
- Electromagnetic rails for launching missiles (“slingers”)
The gift of walker-tec ended the Years of Ravening Winter, which followed after the Children’s rebellion against the Reavers. Without walker-tec, the Children would probably not have survived.
