RMJ 1-2: Sergeant Keller and the Grip Race

Mission Report

Thursday, February 25, 2027 ((2023-01-21))
Team: Key (Dragon), Magni (Wynnri), Pebble (Basil), Reezelyn (Aslene), Wraith (Mike)

As cadets, we arrived at Walker 119. We began orienting to the walker and making ourselves useful. Reezelyn introduced herself, and then introduced Sergeant Morris Keller. Keller began a tour of the walker. Then he put us in teams and we ran a Grip relay race. It was Magni and Key versus Pebble and Wraith. We used a variety of tricks, including ball bearings, locking doors, divine agility, Bosco tackling Pebble, and Key using the wildshapes of hyena and spider. Magni and Key won.

• Wraith (Gleb Vulkarr): I am a bounty hunter, I will use my wits and tracking to keep us on target for our goals
• Reezelyn Hartsdotter: I am a life-long Marshall, and today I will serve by observing with canny perception and building my team in any way I can.
• It's Thursday, February 25, 2027. It's about 9 am. It's been 18 days since the Wall went up (2/2/27).
• Magni arrived first (Feb 15)
• Sihblosians love digital tablets
• Wraith arrived next (Feb 17)
• Pebble arrived next (Feb 22)
• Wraith: I was looking over various stocks and helping the crew get things aboard and packed or unpacked as needed
• Aoibhe and Khione arrive last (Feb 24)
• Magni Snorrison: I was getting up to speed on Shiblos tech and helping to finish the walker
• Prior walker: Restless Blades is Frost Wolf class (small, fast-mover, 1 no-can thopter)
• Pebble familiarized herself with the medbay and lab and let fate find other things for her to do on the ship (helping carry tools, assisting in the kitchen, reading random books, etc)
• Pebble checked on the First Son she found and the network says he's still in statis in New Liberty but an expert is traveling to cure him
• Magni has OPINIONS about putting a reactor next to crew accommodations
• Aoibhe is recovering in sick bay from a minor illness
• Key (Khione): Despite the dangerous and sharp edges that come from several generations on Shiblos, Key is a kind silver dragonborn with the eyes of the sky after a storm. After becoming unbound, her scales gained a magical colorful energy to them. She wears common armor that could be given to any footsoldier, but it's slowly gaining bits and bobs that might eventually create a personalized set of armor. She smiles a lot, but she nevers bumps into anything and her claws are too rough to be civilian.
• Key (Khione): Key doodles a cube within a cube and starts sketching a lab design in the smaller cube. It ends up looking a lot like an Earth space station spinning room that makes artifical consistent gravity. Unfortunately, it involves a large amount of hydraulics, but Key indulges just a smidge.
• Percy is grey skinned and her structure changes slighty with every thought, but retains soft cheeks, a stiff nose, and light eyebags. She has round ears and wears a refurbished thick , stiff coat with a large hood, covering her thin white hair, held back with many connecting ponytails. It has a large stylized Z stamp. She has many pockets but the only full one has gloves sticking out of it. She always carries a basketball sized rock she calls Pebble and is using it currently as a pillow on the table and drooling on it.
• Key (Khione): Key politely taps the table next to Pebble to wake her up.
• Pebble started waking up when death was mentioned but finally sits up straight
• Marshals SOP: squad is 6, and 5 go into the field at a time
• Key perks up at the mention of secrets
• Morris Keller (he/him) is a Bugbear sergeant. He's large even for a Bugbear: a towering 8 feet, 2 inch slab slab of muscle, fur, and grit. Keller wears an anachronistic Napoleonic greatcoat and waistcoat, over military armor. He's festooned with many belts, bandoliers, and pouches of gear. Keller is armed with a modified assault rifle, battle axe, and buckler-style energy shield. He carries himself with jolly energy and gallows humor.
• Everyone on a walker does at least 2 jobs
• You look for ways to pitch in.
• Off the walker, a marshal is a marshal. On the walker, a marshal is crew. You follow orders, you sweat for your fellow crew, if needs be you bleed for your fellow crew.

• Reezelyn Hartsdotter: Reezlyn pats the wall in this room affectionately.
• Grip is for getting around fast
• Grip is for doing maintenance
• Grip is for fighting
• Reezelyn Hartsdotter: Reezlyn leans back against a wall. While there is nothing in her posture or facial expression that someone could point at and say -she is amused- somehow she just radiates quiet amusement.
• Relay race: Primary Reactor to Marshals Pod and back
• Key (Khione): Key's hyena form has heavy fur that's the same color as her scales. It's somewhat sharp and the snout is more vicious than a standard hyena. Through magical means, the jewlery that's on her flair (equivelent to her hair) in humanoid form is now on her front paws. Her tail waves back and forth in excitement
• Magni Snorrison: "That's goin' in the book!"
• Key (Khione): The spider is also a silvery white. It is disgusting to look at, and also very small, so the finer details remain a mystery for now.
