RR 2-7: Bargaining with Shestri and Stopping Nora

Team: Delly (Cael), Fonn (BLANK), Ikhilzis (Schizo), Lottie (Basil), Smokes (Aunne), Ulthane (BLANK), Zenovi (BLANK)

Lottie asked Felicia and Camila to come forth, and they did as specters. Felicia was tense and her ectoplasm tainted with anger. Camila was damaged from her partial devouring by the necrostorm ghoul. However, Camila was curious and conversant. Based on Lottie's advice, they chose to travel with Cal to Almudena Santisteban. They plan to learn more about the Edge and decide on next steps, which may include an effort at redemption for Felicia's murder spree.

We visited Shestri in a cell in the POE facility. He is an infernal reaper. Contact with the violet creep has improbably given him a conscience. He acutely feels empathy for the many souls he has dragged to the Nine Hells of Baator over centuries. Both Felicia and another human died ready to make an infernal bargain. Instead, in both cases Shestri just gave them the vengeance they craved. Now he wants to enter Adinzar and be cleansed of the creep.

We agreed to Shestri's bargain and he gave us the location of the second revenant. Nora Fleming was a librarian at Georgetown University with an interest in literature and witchcraft. She had undetected arcane potential. Nora used magic to kill many people in Rosslyn and raised them as zombies. At a construction site, she was trying to open a portal to Baator. She was being encouraged by two wind devils. We killed Nora. We destroyed one devil and drove the other way, and we destroyed all the zombies. Ikhilzis and Lottie stopped Nora's soul from going to Baator. Instead, she's haunting Lottie.

  • Ikhilzis Poisonblood: C, privately: No. Thank you.
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): C, privately: A sense of respectful acknoweldgement.
  • Lottie: * Talked to Felicia and Camila and sent them and Cal to secret necromancy city
  • Shestri: I have seen much, but done little. My regret is lead in my limbs, pulling me down into immobile despair.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: ,* We are giving the Infernal Reaper Aristotle's "Ethics" and a copy of Dumas's Three Musketeers to read. Additionally, Smokes will include "Moby Dick" and "The Unbearable Lightness of Being." Also, a book of collected kobold verbal-tradition poetry as captured by a dragonborn scholar. With a margin note, "He got it mostly right."

  • Nora: Georgetown librarian, interested in witchcraft, never detected as having arcane potential
  • Lottie: Sanctuary looks like whenever someone tries to attack Delly, It feels like Lottie is in their mind going "You don't have to do this. We're willing to talk" ?
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly looks at Ikhilzis. "I'll take them, you take her?"
  • Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): There is a singing triumph in the Chain, the hunting cat with her pride.
  • Wind devil: "Egalmaar will remember you, mortals!"
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: Topi's magic in that moment is .. primal. Unusual for her - she licks a claw; flicking it forward, she speaks three harsh, gutteral words of Draconic; her eyes flare, her scales are, momentarially, tinged with black. The flicked spittle becomes a line of acid, flaring green and hissing across the zombies - burning into flesh and bone.
  • Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: ... even after the zombies fall, Topi focuses - almost vindictively - on the remnants. The zombies hit by that acidic spit burn and bubble for at least another minute - as she holds her will on them. *They hit Lottie.*
  • Lottie: * Nora is haunting Lottie's construct
