RR 1-20: Brother Iron, Rixa, and Training

You talked at length with Brother Iron, to learn more about what went wrong during your reincarnation. Iron explained that the phantom that possessed Nails went almost unnoticed by him, suggesting the favor of a Power such as a minor god or a demonlord. Iron also theorized that the phantom may have hoped to manipulate Raptor Red into serving an evil cause. When Iron confronted Nails, Nails fled through a portal and Iron followed. The portal led to a scarlet jungle in Carceri, an outer plane. Iron pursued Nails into an underground complex, possibly built by a beholder. Iron sensed a powerful Abyssal presence, possibly a demonlord. Before he got far he was petrified. You left Iron to rest, and then he left to join Granny Bones and Old Grandmother in the hunt for Nails. Meanwhile, Zenovi and Ikhilzis met with Rixa at a 24-hour chicken-and-waffles restaurant. You shared the intel that the POE will connect to Sigil Station. Rixa was grateful. She planned to use Talarin’s connections with the Order of the Four Dragon Paths to further strengthen the case for siting the POE at the Embassy of Japan. She also asked your approval to negotiate with the Tower of Brass Leaves for further political leverage. As a team, you decided to recommend that Kefnet, god of knowledge, be freed from Adinzar. Then you began weeks of training and side projects.

• Lottie: "I worry what urgency would cause someone to turn to hijacking this project. Are people in danger? Why would someone turn to such magick?"
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: Chain: Indeed. Also, things went - and to quote "Pear Shaped.." this implies a sort of.. leak, connected to these Frayed. Operational security was not maintained.

• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: Chain: Desperation? Insanity? Or perhaps the Far Realms are the only things that could hijack the project.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "... Demons. A demon lord exists to simply unmake creation. This *would* be interesting to them - our project, our mission. The volumes of power that we propose to deal with are significant. However.. why not corrupt the process? I wonder."
• (Lottie): dr zenovi and her very human nurse
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: C: "I would propose that we should add the Violet Creep itself to our list of Things To Research. I have a suspicion that it is a fiendish twist on an Illithid invention. This has the feel of that all over it, as does the Frayed."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: C: That sounds utterly terrible.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: C: "WE are connected to it. This.. implies some interesting things."
• Creep appeared in use in many places around the same time
• Circus Divergia may be involved
• Granny Bones' sword is from a giant saber tooth piranha in the Astral

• Lottie: Lottie is going to encourage us disguising ourselves to not become a "player" in the game between the dissenter and Rixa
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: C: "Elves. Honestly. Can they never just say "you did well!" or "I'm happy to know you?" It's always "You are very competent - which, of course, I understand completely, but just *once*. Once. AAARGH."
• Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): C: A feeling from Delly, a small amunt of amusement and a small nod of acknowledbgemen.

• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "C: In the future, I'm going to insist on sitting in the background during these meetings. My eyes might be of help.
• Ikhilkzis and Zenovi meet with Rixa, and give her the intel that the POE will connect to Sigil. Also, they hint at the bloodstones in TIN drones
• Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly passes Ikhilzis in the hall and smiles at him, breathless and sweaty. She's got... weights on her wrists? "You better keep up! Next time I'll behitting much harder."
• Zenovi is trying to take the United Stated Medical Liscensing Exam in order to obtain a license
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "Good to know."
• Enrolls in College (Theology/Nursing Major, she doesn't sleep)
• Delly built a shrine to Aedin and prayed to him for the first time. She put it with the other two in the Chapel Room.
• Ulthane prioritizes creating a complex, challenging puzzle. He starts with simple ideas of manufacturing and production, with gradually adding complexity.
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: *Requesting Ulthane to create a Greatsword more suited to Yuan-ti, working on Sentinel Feat.
• Lottie: Lottie trains by knitting and trying to read flimsy modern books
• Delly goes to Granny Bones's hencheman/retainers, talks her way into attending practice.
• Lottie: Lottie tells them that shes quaker and when they go "is that like the amish" she goes "well not usually, but its pretty close to my story!"
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: Smokes *STARES* at the big ram. She follows it around (at a distance). She takes lots of notes. One might get the impression she doesn't see lots of.. y'know. *animals.*
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "Huh."
• Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): "...WEll, as long as Snow doesn't try to eat it."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: ".. does... does Snow eat things THAT big?"
• Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Woiolpertingers are know for thier ability to flee and hide, but they're opportunistic omnivores that often use thier abilities to lead creatures off cliffs or into freezing waters. Then they swarm and eat them."
• Ulthane works on the puzzle. Of note, he leads Bo of the Thundering Hooves out of the altar. He resembles a large ram with massive curled horns. He is actually a celestial in the form of a giant ram. He can speak Dvaren.
• The survivors of Avinos are doing OK: Billy Banks, Cheyanne Shaw, Thiago Sanchez. They're in the Talarin program for Edge-touched Sleepers
• Smokes seems enthralled by the Spyglass for some time. She doesn't actually seem to *notice* the fact that no matter where she goes while studying it.. her research journal and spellbook always... well. Shows up. Immediately. When she wants it. Her pen is always in her hand when she takes a note - and vanishes when she doesn't need to write. Not *oncE* in two weeks does she actually seem to notice this fact, as engrossed as she is in the glass and its compelling secrets.
• TIN drones with bloodstones was a spy-vs-spy situation between Talarin and the LRC
• Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly helps with whatever the ram needs, if Ulthane wants/allows; her xenobiology degree is evident here. She also brings Smokes, Lott,e and Zenovi copious amounts of very dark, very caffienated tea.
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: Ikhilzis takes the duty to cook every other night for the group. Lots of experiments in food. One week the group gets a set of meals dedicated to Greek food. Another week is all about Dvaren cuisine. Another week is Indian food (very spicy). A third week is Mediterranean food.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: .... Smokes is *very keen* on finding and playing with those puzzles with Ulthane leaves them about. Perhaps it's her nature coming to the fore, but they have a tendency to .. uh. Migrate to her room. Where they end up on a shelf. In a place of honor. The ones she hasn't solved end up on her desk.
• Brigganocks become fans of Ulthane's puzzles
• Lottie knits for the Briganocks.
• Smokes starts taking to always - when she's not in her small human seeming and relaxed in the bunker - wearing a leather cloak with a neat ribbon tying it around her neck - usually with her shawl draped over the top. Yet another layer of clothing - she apparently never really gets /warm/. Especially in the winter. With a blizzard. Perhaps.
• Delly (Delsari Orist Nym Galadant): Delly gives Smokes Snow to hold sometimes; he is very warm.
• Andrew Neriven, Doctor, R3M, Firbolg (he/him), aids Zenovi in final prep for the medical license
• Ulthane introduces the team to Bo, informing them of his favorite food being dandelions. Ulthane collaborates on crafting puzzles with the Brigganocks, enjoying their excitement over his creations.
