Prophecies of the Reaping

The Prophecies of the Reaping are a fragmented collection of predictions about the future. The predictions touch on many topics but generally sketch a future in which the Reaver Combine conquers the multiverse.

Fragments of the Prophecies have appeared at different places and times throughout the multiverse. Enemies of the Combine try to keep the fragments out of their possession, by hiding or destroying them. The Reaver Combine collects the Prophecies with intense determination and even at great cost.

The Prophecies are in the native language of the Reavers and reflect their alien minds. The Prophecies are often vividly violent. For non-Reavers, the Prophecies are dangerous to study. Those who have studied the Prophecies have found passages that accurately predicted their own deaths, or driven them mad. In the Brotherhood of the Shroud and Swarmkin, cultists often study the Prophecies in preparation for possession by a Reaver spirit. It may be that studying the Prophecies makes them more receptive to possession.

Fragments or extended portions of the Prophecies have been found in the Closeness, most likely as one way the Combine is trying to exert influence across the Breakwater.
