These gauntlets are the special weapon of a Githzerai monastic order in Limbo. The materials and process used in their construction is mysterious.

Each gauntlet contains at least one shard of chaos energy. A fraction of the energy can be used to enhance a melee attack, or it can be discharged as a small, fast bolt for a ranged attack.

The flavor of chaos in the shard determines the damage type. It's possible to add more shards to enable more damage types. Only one damage type can be chosen for a particular attack.

Merely wearing the gauntlets requires special training and sustained mental discipline, to prevent the chaos from breaking free. This same training and discipline is used to steadily recharge the shard(s) with fresh chaos energy (from anywhere in the Multiverse).
