RR 1-3: Investigating Project Raptor Red

Team: Delly (Cael), Fonn (Dragon), Ikhilzis (Schizo), Lae'eni (Aslene), Lottie (Basil), Smokes (Aunne), Ulthane (Blank), Zenovi (Dae)

The team rests up, then continues exploring and securing the Lab and Office sectors. They find files, more memory beads, and other evidence. Grusol Stronso also explains some of the recent history of the Bunker. Nails and Brother Iron led a secret project rebuild the heroes and create Raptor Blue. Their bodies are probably in Amonkhet. Ikhilzis has an Illithid symbiote, and the Bunker includes a containment room as a contingency. Zenovi and Delly find intriguing magic items. Each hero has an ultraviolet tattoo on their inner left arm.

Details

• Ikhilzis Poisonblood looks around, and makes sure the weaponry on him is sufficient. Once locating the team, he'll grab armor, weapons, as necessary.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw stays swiftside ... with her paper raven on her shoulder, moving cautiously... and staying near Lae'eni.
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "Has anyone located the laptop required for our quarantined member?"
• Lae'eni: -chain- Khils, you're back! Do you feel okay? Are you... you know... all you?
• Lottie: Lottie looks very focused on her shoulder, still not used to her body and not wanting to accidentally flip a gear or exhale steam or something
• Lae'eni: -chain- Alas, no. We wanted to rescue the small fey creature first because we knew they were injured. The office would be the best place to go next. (you can sense the smile in her voice)
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: -chain- ... I believe I'm whole. These changes are... strange. Physically... I am moving better. Mentally.... it feels like moving through fog.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: -c- That sort of fog can be rather terrifying. We're here - and we'll keep you safe.
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood looks around for the office, half listening to the Mousefolk while keeping an eye out. He holds the Moontouched greatsword resting on one shoulder, with the autopistol in his free hand.
• Delly: Delly blinks. Rapidly. What the heck.
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: -c- Once we clear the area, we can get into feeling safe, in my opinion. Lockdown has not lifted, it appears?
• Grusol explains recent history
  • Nails and Iron arrive
  • 9 troopers are sedated, arrive (3 shifts of 3)
  • RJ and Lisette arrive
  • 14 workers are sedated, arrive
  • Workers live in residence, and they mostly restore the Bunker
  • Raptor Red candidates identified. Souls are found at Gevoka, brought to Amonkhet
  • Most of the work is completed
  • All the workers are sedated, depart
  • Iron builds the paramatter altar
  • BECINN field turned on
  • RJ, Lisette, and Clan finish the work
  • BECINN field turned off
  • Raptor Red summoned
  • The Frayed assemble platforms (bodies) using the paramatter altar, and attack, try to stop the Tutorial, capture Nails
  • 2 Troopers and Grusol Stronso secure the lab, fight off the Frayed
  • Iron takes the rest of the troopers to rescue Nails
  • Some troopers are assimilated, Iron and Nails missing
• Cinero: Party taking long rest.
• Delly: "I would sort of like to know why making an altar of paramatter is a poor idea, and also why this quarantine is in effect. "
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Paramatter is.. intriguing, and potentially quite dangerous. Or useful. An 'altar of paramatter' is a bit like saying "a box of anything." Or, rather, a box of possibilities."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: -c- "Pandora's box."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Perhaps. Think of it as ... self-organizing mystic energy. It's .. possibility that can manifest in the physical world. Sort of.. crystallized weave, conceptually."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "And I am no expert. Given time, perhaps?"
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "That 'zombie' was impregnated with it. Perhaps it wasn't a zombie, not really. This is the 'Frayed' that Stronso mentioned.. or one of them."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "... I suspect the quarantine is a result of these "Frayed", but not necessarially the Paramatter qua Paramatter."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: -c- Paramatter is used for fleshshaping and others. My people were starting to work with it recently.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "I can imagine a thousand uses for possibility in a bottle - from the mundane; consider having a field ration of 'anything you want', for example? But.. for every good use, there could be a thousand terrible ones."
• Delly: "...Rather wish we were aove ground, Never thought I'd be clausterphobic, but I sort of feel a bit closed in."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "As a note - given the opportunity, there is a great deal I can do with that chapel room to minimize our exposure and remove their ability to encroach on us. If we have a certain amount of ranged capability..."
• Delly: AS they break off, Delly guives Lottie a half-bow, somewhat ironic and amused, to her to go first. It's a bit of a change from before.
• Delly: Delly moves Snow to her shoulder. The strange little creature keeps watch with keen red eyes, and gently preens her hair with his small fangs.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: -c- Also, Miss Delly - take a moment. Pinch just above where your thumb and index finger meet - in that muscle there. Then, rub the tendon in that wrist on the inner part of your hand. That should help with that feeling of being closed in."
• Delly: Delly blinks. She does as Topi suggests, and blinks in surprise. "Hmm. That is better. My thanks."

  • RJ Foster is talking with Lisette Carrell. Lisette: It's an impressive system. What's it for? RJ: It's a containment unit. Nails decided that it's necessary. Ikhilzis' status is highly unstable. If the symbiote survives reconstitution, it could be an unpredictable factor.
• Delly: "I am perfectly willing to assist in whatever interesting operation this is, but I am rather displeased about modifications without my consent. Hmph. I'll have a talk in person."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood grunts. "Figures."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "If you attempt to eat my brain, my friend, I will not give you tea for at least a week."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "Brains are not appetizing in general."
• Lottie: "I haven't a brain to eat but I'd much rather you didn't eat Delly's,
• Delly: DElly blinks, looking slightly surprised at Lottie. "Oh. WEll, thank you, Lottie."
• Arkitalos: The Lie-Weaver in the Dark must be stopped. That is my purpose. Your fears are irrelevant.
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood stiffens slightly, then shakes his head.
• Lottie: "Oh! Delly and I've been there. Voice in your head and all that."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: -c- Singing: "IIiiiiiim a voiiiiiice in you heeeaaaad..."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: -c- "Not very funny."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "-c- ... /I/ thought so."
• Delly: "Maybe just s smidgen funny, though, as someone who preiously had a voice in their head."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood grumps in general, and falls silent.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "NOW. I do have a plan. For the monsters. On the cameras. It isn't a wonderful plan, but if I could make it insurmountably difficult for them to close with us, would anyone find that objectionable?"
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "... I find myself wishing to be up close rather than at a distance, but I will adapt if necessary."
• Delly: "...I'm a swordswoman by trade, but I can adapt as well. "
• Lottie: "I have a sword and gun, but I'd much rather use my words."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Words can be extremely cutting."
• Lottie: "I like to use my blade to cut a path for them to see good."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "Do we have eyes on the hall way to the chapel?"
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "Yes - that is the common room with it's lovely inhabitants."
• Zenovi of the Ágrioxýlo Tribe: Thinking aloud, Zenovi says, "My goddess finds notorious distaste for temples and sacrifices. I wonder what such a shapeshifting alter to her would look like."
• Lottie: "I'm sure my lady's temple will be quite the look."
• Lottie: Lottie says, smiling
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: em wisely keeps her trap - and mind - shut re: gods.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "-c- Zenovi. Do not lick the Algae."
• Delly: "....You know.... this paramatter altar. It's just- that does NOT seem to be the kind of thing a high druid would do. It seems... stupid, honestly. Unwise at best. This Brother Iron may be many things but not.... unwise, or stupid."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "When investigating an oddity, begin with the known - but leave room for supposition. I hear, perhaps, that caution - and a measure of distrust - should be advised."
• Zenovi finds goggles that peer into the Grid and the Swift

  • Brother Iron, Stygi, park? forest? wolf howls. Divination.
  • Iron: "I see no other way. Aiden has agreed to store the bodies. They'll be unseen by the targets. But we also can't let the Relentless Understanding find them. There seems no other way. I'll just have to leave breadcrumbs."

• Delly: "...My goodness," Dely says, eyes wide.
• Delly: "This sand is... really something..."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "Maybe best to store it somewhere safe for the time being. If it is that valuable, we will need it later."
• Delly: -c- "Hmm-? Oh yes. I suppose. Also- I have important informatuon to share, when you all have a moment."
• Haelra and Belica led the post-battle sub-operation that dealt with mechadead
• Smokes almost breaks a server (n1)
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw slinks back to the hallway, embarrassed.
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw tosses an egg in her maw and monches. Crunching. By way of mollifying her embarrassment.

  • Brother Iron is talking with RJ Foster. Iron: We need to ensure that they adopt the typical domestic routines of humanoids. RJ: So we're talking, what, eating, sleeping, playing games...? Iron: Yes. Everything should contribute to a feeling of being alive.
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "You're fine."
• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: HMPH. I didn't /mean/ to get my claw cought on those blue.. things. They're small! I didn't even notice it.
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood: "It happens."

• Topi "Smokes" Smokeclaw: "... well. At least I'm marginally useful for something. The druidic magic in this facility is intriguing."
• Ikhilzis Poisonblood nods. "See, we all have purposes."
