A jumpgate is a device for folding space or dimensions. An open jumpgate links two distant points for instant communication and/or travel. Most jumpgates have distinctive apertures, in the form of large circles, hexagons, or other symmetrical geometric shapes.
On Earth, jumpgate technology was pioneered by Elias Rossman and Dwight Mackey. Both men claim credit for the discovery and application of modern transphysics. Their work on jumpgates lead to box diving.
Technomancers such as Elias Rossman have created jumpgates, but jumpgates can also be created by other means.
