Caterina Berrett is a Korean American human necromancer (she/her). She was one of Mr. Smith's apprentices.

Caterina is a leader in the Brotherhood of the Shroud. She helped coordinate much of the R&D on shadowfringe and mechadead in places like Fortune's Edge and a foundry under her family's private airfield outside Chicago.

Dwight Mackey told Raptor Blue that Caterina isn't human, and also not aberration, infernal, fey, or draconic.
