Safire and Ivy Skyguard are fraternal twins. They were born and raised in the embassy of Tanyth Aramont in the city of Sigil in the Outer Planes. ("Safire" and "Ivy" are their adult names, chosen for themselves by elven tradition.) They were fiercely affectionate and loyal to each other, although sought different careers.

Safire Skyguard was a male elf paladin of Erevan Ilesere (an elven trickster god). He took up adventuring early in life. Many of his known adventures were in and around Sigil, as well as across the planes. He held several ranks in the embassy's garrison, but his heart was clearly in hunting and battle. Safire was suspected of being sympathetic to the Unbroken Tide--an anti-slavery secret society. Safire died during the defense of Quarenzend on December 22, 1999.

Safire Skyguard is a striking male elf paladin. He has high cheekbones and vivid blue eyes. His long, platinum blonde hair is woven into dreadlocks, with matte silver beads. He wears a full suit of flexible armor made from white dragonhide, and it shimmers with his movements. He has a longsword and dagger sheathed at his hips. Safire stands and moves like a languid predator.

Uhoshi speaks in a ruminative way, and it's tinged with anger over sorrow. "Safire Skyguard was always a fool. He admired his trickster god too much and tried to emulate Him too often. He danced on the edges of knives, and he was destined to pay for it, sooner or later. Now he has sacrificed himself, letting the Guardian of the Box take his soul, his essence, instead of Lyndi Fletcher's. Such a brave, reckless fool."

Ivy Skyguard was a female elf inquisitive (rogue). She was formally trained as a diplomat of T'Aramont. During her education and internships, and then throughout her career, Ivy cheerfully sought dangerous and challenging postings. While her cover story was often serving as an attaché, her true talents lay in forensic science and espionage. Ivy often played a pivotal role in embassy security and counterintelligence.

Ivy Skyguard is a striking female elf sorcerer. She has high cheekbones and vivid blue eyes. Her long, platinum blonde hair is braided into a single ponytail. She wears a flexible bright green dragonhide bodice over a tight white blouse slashed with dark green. Her dark green pants are tucked into matching dragonhide boots. She has a long silver wand sheathed at her waist. Ivy stands and moves like a languid predator.

Not long after the death of her brother, Ivy was posted on Tessera as a senior aide to the ambassador from T'Armont to the Shangon Empire. In December 2002, Shangon authorities requested Ivy's help in investigating and countering a suspected Freelands Republic infiltration of a fort on the border of the war zone. The whole team was slain by a Republic guerrilla force using magic, on December 22. Most of the bodies were destroyed in the attack, including Ivy's.
