Expatriates or "Expats" are immigrants to Sihblos. Most Expats are:
- Human
- From Earth
- Recent immigrants (arriving after 1999)
- Citizens of the Free Republic of Sihblos
Many of the early Expats were pioneers and built simple homesteads. Over time, they've grown into villages and towns. These settlements were heavily relying on support flowing through New Liberty from Earth and other worlds. This especially include electricity (or "Joules") to power defensive systems. Once the Wall went up, Expat settlements became much more precarious.
The Mother's Children typically regard the Expats and their settlements with curiosity, amusement, and pity. Most believe that Sihblos will destroy them, sooner or later.
