RB 3-14: Burning Down a Hydra

Mission Report

Party: Lyndi Fletcher (Aslene), Jane Irwin (Cael), Proud Flame (Aunne), Cyrus Riggs (Sielic), Cadeos (DragoN), Haelra Vayn (Basil)

The team collaborated on a strategy to lure out and kill the hydra. They traveled to the lair, mindful that they were being tracked. The heroes swiftly poured fire damage into the hydra. But then Caterina's cult sent in a mechadead surprise, and the battle continued.

Preparing for the Fight

Traveling to the Lair

• DM: >> 2 napalm bombs into cow, cow into Bron
• DM: >> Bron will drop team, then cow
• DM: >> Team travels in Bron
• Jane Irwin: Stygi is wearing a hand-knitted little sweater.
• DM: >> Cyrus feels watched, works with Draco to discover a camera watching the roof of the Fort
• DM: >> Draco backtraces the camera feed
• DM: >> Jane barters with the ravens to watch the Fort
• Draco: >> Hacks the camera to give it a feed of the Raptors still on the roof
• Draco: >> Camera dumps to a virtual server. No one seems to currently be accessing the feed

Fighting the Hydra

• Bron: >> Drops the beef slab
• DM: >> Cyrus and Jane blow the scent into the sewer opening
• Draco: >> Camera feed is going to Archangel, i.e., Farwatch
• Cadeos: narrows his eyes against the wind, crouching so that his cloak hides him from view and only Riggs knows he's /there/. He lifts a scared claw and waits for Riggs to signal to send him out to the ground in front of it.
• DM: >> Hydra is old, unusually large, and wily-looking
• DM: >> One head has barbed wire wrapped around one head
• DM: >> One leg has the remains of a shopping cart wrapped around it
• DM: >> Barbed wire head blinded by the napalm explosion
• DM: >> Cy polymorphs into a T Rex
• Many fire attacks
• Jane summons a salamander
• Flame: >> Yeah! Get some! Get some!
• Max: >> Farwatch is reporting their systems have been compromised
• DM: >> Jane: "Bullets have a specific address. Flamethrowers are addressed To Whom It May Concern."
• DM: >> T Rex eats a hydra head
• As the hydra dying...
• Three metal cylinders teleported in

  • B: Spray of silver goo and clockwork injectors on to the hydra, to enhance it
  • C: Antimagic Field (10' radius)
• Sound bomb disorients Phobos
• The battle isn't over
