RMJ 1-5: Red Iron Crab

Mission Report

Thursday, February 25, 2027 ((2023-02-04))
Team: Aoibhe (Dae), Key (Dragon), Magni (absent), Pebble (Basil), Reezelyn (Aslene), Wraith (Mike)

We investigated the cybernetic device attached to the dead weasel. It was a red iron crab: a Reavertec parasite that takes control of its host’s brain. Reeze sang it to sleep, but then it tasted Wraith’s blood and tried to assimilate him. We defeated the crab, removed its power cells, and brought it back to our walker. We also brought back the zamanders, which we harvested for parts. We called in a missile strike that burned the weasel corpse. After a night’s rest, we each received a pair of Marshal spikes. Our spikes are dynametal weapons and tools. We spent the morning learning how to use them.

• It's Thursday, February 25, 2027. It's about 3:30 pm. It's been 18 days since the Wall went up (2/7/27).
• Key in overwatch in the copter
• Reeze is digging around in a frozen weasel corpse looking for the egg of a bacteria ridden lizard beast.
• Aoibhe, Wraith, Pebble, and Magni try to get the tech parts out of the weasel
• Reeze finds one egg really deep inside - cuz that's what Reeze does.
• Reezelyn's nanites weaken the crab, Pebble keeps Wraith alive, Aoibhe poisons Wraith's body to make it less attractive, then Magni attacks it with finesse.
• Reeze puts out the word that all citizens should report any erratically acting animals/beasts to their nearest Marshalls - citing rabies-like behaviors. Skippers of all Marshal walkers are notified of reaver tech possibilities.
• Magni got 2 nat 20 rolls when dealing with red crab containment. He found three separate power sources - and also found a wireless network connection - because of the network we can now connect to Reavernet.
• There is some kind of local reaver activity registered on the Reavernet that we don't yet have intel on.
• Meaning we should figure that out ;)
• GM: Party taking long rest.
• Reezelyn taps a few things on her roll out keyboard and then turns and smiles at Wraith again, "Resources have been released for your project. What was the name of the Zamander again?"
