There are multiple approaches to necromancy. They are primarily distinguished by whether the magic affects a soul, a body, or both, and by whether the necromancer is imposing their will or making a request.
- “Blood necromancy,” “flesh-and-blood necromancy,” and “mud necromancy” are slang for magic that focuses on bodies.
- “Spectral necromancy” is slang for magic that focuses on souls.
- “Hardline necromancy” is slang for magic that forces a soul or body to obey.
