Battle Continued

• The heroes defeat the guardian; Proud gets the killing blow
• As Caterina's guardian is destroyed, she speaks through it: "Perfect. Now I know how you fight."
• Undead destroyed: 4 (1 guardian + 3 wild dogs)
• Team explores northern rooms
• Haelra finds a scrying marble tucked in a corner, destroys it with Ray of Frost
• Haelra finds an explosive rune on a door, disrupts it with Counterspell

  • Jane bargains with Dol'modeen: pull the safe from the Ethereal in exchange for Caterina's body committed to salt water
  • 3 bloodstones (rubies; humanoid souls)
  • Caterina's notebook on converting a golem to personal power armor
  • Caterina's notebook on use dragon souls
    • Draco: Burning a soul in a bloodstone would break the cycle of their reincarnation forever, removing a soldier from the forces of Lord Bahamut.
• Cyrus finds Caterina scrying marble in office, which Jane burns
• Specimens Room

  • Jane burns the lock
  • Necrotic energy spills out
  • Room is filled with dozens of trapped, agitated spirits of beasts
  • DM: >> Ape spirit was a female mother, saw her family experimented on, shipped away
  • DM: >> She fought the Raptor above, and apologized for it
• Jane Irwin: Jane spends a few silent moments hugging Stygi. She tries to wipe her eyes on her sleeve once but she's still covered in her own blood so she just smears more on hre face by accident and swears in frustration.
• Lab
  • Some diagrams of mechadead, diagram of clockwork injector, a few tools and parts left behind, some spare parts for mechadead, broken chains and fragments from abomination self constructions;
  • Cyrus finds a Caterina scrying marble, which Jane incinerates
  • Bloodstone apparatus, body of a pixie and her faint ghost (Flame Littleriver), Haelra lets the ghost recuperate by inhabiting her arm
• Jumpgate
  • Destroyed, remnant of link to Fortune's Edge in Tessera
• Cyrus finds a Caterina scrying marble, which Jane incinerates
• Discussion to trying to use the marbles
• Back to the Specimens Room
  • Haelra tries Gentle Repose but the beast spirits are too agitated
  • Jane penetrates the spirit storm
  • Electric furnace for medical waste; ghosts of animals experimented on
  • DM: >> Cyrus and Cadeos take the ashes vials upstairs to release
  • DM: >> Jane and Haelra free the animal spirits
  • DM: >> Draco guards J and H
  • DM: >> Proud makes a final sweep
  • DM: >> Nomusa goes with C and C
  • Jane Irwin: Jane will want records of who and what was killed, and she will get the names of the animal as well. She's keeping a list.
  • DM: >> Vials are lead, with hand-written labels of animal ID, and QER code
  • DM: >> 53 vials. Not all match the trapped spirits
  • Jane Irwin: Jane cuddles Stygi again, taking solace from him in the absolute awfulness that was below.
  • DM: >> Haelra takes the container with the pixie body
• DM: >> Team stays on site for 8 hours, while Jane and Nomusa cast Plant Growth on the site
• Bron destroys the lab, then the magically-enhanced plants overgrow it
