The Wall is slang for a massive barrier covering the Closeness and preventing almost all communication and travel.
Background
The Council of Gevoka is a multiverse alliance of nations and other factions and powers. The Council decided that Earthlings are too dangerous at their current level of development, especially based on their wars and ecological stewardship (or lack thereof).
The most powerful paranormal group on Earth was the Rational Ascendancy (RA). RA had maintained a vast boundary called the Breakwater, restricting communication and travel in and out of the Closeness. RA later strengthened this boundary and called it Palisade.
The Council seized control of Palisade and upgraded it. Technically, it's Palisade 2.0, but most inside simply call it "the Wall." Now almost nothing gets in or out. Furthermore, the Wall interferes with communication and travel even among the worlds in the Closeness. Many paranormal beings were trapped in the Closeness on whichever world they were on when the Wall went up. This includes fae, spirits, elementals, celestials, fiends, etc.
