Happy Trees is a secret society that hides within the counterculture scenes like Dead Heads, grunge, music festivals, cons, and communes. Happy Trees, or "HT," eschews authority, bureaucracy, and conformity. HT is predominantly mundane humans. However, it's also a haven for some monks, shamans, and druids, as well as some metahumans and paranormal beings.

History & Operations

The founders of Happy Trees grooved on Bob Ross, and his likeness is sometimes a clue to finding a member.

HT is totally decentralized, deliberately, making it very resistant to infiltration or corruption. Internal communication is an erratic mix of internet, darknet, data embedded in swapped mix CDs and DVDs, and low-tech notes and letters passed by roadies, groupies, and other "friends of the road."

Allies

HT has the strong backing of the Order of One Terra. Druids have all but lost the war against the Rational Ascendancy. Some druids have abandoned conventional opposition and redoubled their efforts to change hearts and minds (e.g., through fiction and music).
