Paramatter is an unstable form of matter/energy. It exists in constant flux between solid matter on one plane, and energy and information on an adjacent plane. For example, paramatter can quickly shift between a fixed physical mass on the Prime Material Plane and dynamic energy in the Swift.
Paramatter is a magitec approach to copying the paranormal power of beings like shapeshifters to add or remove mass from their forms, instinctively.
Due to its innate nature as information, paramatter is programmable. For example, paramatter could be left in place in a doorway as invisible energy, while programmed to shift into a solid barrier a few minutes later.
To a novice, paramatter seems like a promising avenue for application. Programming matter/energy to fluidly shift its state could be very useful in many contexts. However, the necessary power and monitoring are usually unsustainable. It's simpler to change the mass or size of something solid, or use a pocket dimension, than to temporarily convert it to energy/information. -Galuda Silvertoe, Dvaren Tynker
