Divinity
The Maniac is one of the Shadows. The Maniac is obsession, greed, and evil artifice. They are fool's gold, the finger on the scale, torture devices, and the slobber of madness.
On Tessera, some plants grow unusually fast and/or large. Such plants are labeled maniac plants (e.g., maniac stranglevine, maniac oak).
The Maniac is the shadow of the Tinker.
The Raven Queen may also be a Face of the Tinker or Maniac, with her fixation (or mania) on thought, memory, and possibility. The theory that she helps purify/convert souls through a cleansing "fire" of ruthless psychic self-exploration also fits with this Eternal. She is revered in similar but separate ways by different worshipers and seekers.
((Other touchstones: Gollum, Smaug, Tamatoa (the crab from Moana).))
