The District of Columbia has three major city spirits: Sorrow, Anger, and Ambition. This fragmentation implies much about the discordant visions and aspirations of the peoples and factions here. DC has other powerful spirits as well, including Bob and Columbia.

== Sorrow ==

Oma Janda is the Spirit of Sorrow. She appears as a appears as a giant turtle, walking a circle over a submerged version of DC. A vibrant forest grows on her shell. A belvedere (or gazebo) stands at the highest point.

Oma Janda is a primal god. Some believe that she came to DC with African slaves. She has a reputation of protecting the descendants of such slaves.

Oma Janda can be reached via a portal in Turtle Park.

Canto Fel is the Spirit of Anger.

Canto Fel is served by city shadows: the restless souls of dead soldiers. She can also summon city gloom, a kind of dark, sticky fog that hides her activities from [[Sleepers]] and makes them forget.
