A destiny rescription is a kind of "file name overwrite." It tries to change a thing by renaming it, usually subtly and incrementally.

Rescriptions are ancient magic, similar to rune magic. They were first used by some of the elder races to reshape living and nonliving things by renaming them.

For most living beings, a destiny rescription is trivially easy to resist, because the being has the [[Limits of Magic|Limit of Essential Nature]] on their side.
